| My worst non weed-induced (aka "real") panic attack lasted an hour (and are only supposed to last 5-10 minutes, it's very stressing on the mind and body), yeah... hearts been irregular ever since. |

| If you want to keep getting high I read somewhere you could grind up the weed real fine and soak it in olive oil for a while, mixing it every so often, and then you could just take it a few drops at a time until you know how much you need. Not 100% sure it would work.

| Here's what works for me - I've been through the whole panic disorder thang so I know what it's like, and it really can happen to anyone, even experienced smokers. Smoke one hit at a time, taking it in deeply and holding for 3-4 seconds before exhaling. Then go and do something enjoyable for 15 minutes. If you feel good after this time, smoke another hit in the same fashion. Stop when you feel comfortably stoned, don't go chasing the high. Can take a bit of practice to get your doses right. If you do start to feel uncomfortable and start worrying about having another attack, go and have a nice long, hot shower - stay in it until you start to feel better, and trust me, you will. The knowledge that you can always jump in the shower can act as a psychological security blanket, which will help the mind to let go of negative associations. I've found that panic symptoms tend to stem only from the first time you smoke - it's like a little hit to begin with primes your body for the high, then another more substantial hit much later has a much smoother effect, than if you were to do it all in rapid succession. Just my thoughts, hope it can help someone out of where I was a year ago. |

| The shower thing is a really good idea. I've never had a panic attack from weed but I've had a few in my life before and I've found that distraction really is the best tool you've got. Well, I take that back. First you have to realize that you are going to be okay, there is nothing about the weed that will make you panic. You're terrified of having a panic attack and your brain gets into that nasty pattern of associating the fear of having a panic attack with actually having one so the second you become afraid, BAM panic attack. Did that sentence make sense? Basically, you have to learn how to separate the fear of having a panic attack from actually having one because there is a huge difference. Take a shower, watch TV, read, do anything that will occupy your mind. Do it before you decide to smoke (small, small hits!), wait awhile, distract yourself, if you feel like smoking more go for it but just take it easy. And if it's too much, just stop smoking for awhile. No high is worth feeling miserable and petrified to get it. But you can get to the point where you can smoke again. I don't know you, but I have complete confidence that you can. |

Also, I understand that a weed induced panic attack can be just as bad. I also conceed that there is no difference in a "weed-induced" panic attack and a non-"weed-induced" panic attack. And mine on weed were just as terrible as sober. There is a definite reason to say that the panic attack was triggered by a belief that the weed would cause it, thus a "weed-induced" panic attack. | |

| I get the same things sometimes, That why I bought a tiny ass little one hitter keychain pipe, these little pipes are cool, you can still get high but not take as much in. Panic attacks suck, I been having them since I was a kid and now at almost 32 years old I still get them! Im on meds for them so that helps. | well your panic attacks are probably caused by the thought of having another one and getting overworked about that, it will take time to get over them but you will if you try, and if you can try to raise your tolerance after the attacks are over, just smoke alittle more than usual like one extra hit, do that on a regular basis and hopefuly you will be like my friend who is a light weight and will gradualy increase your tollerance meaning less of a chance of a panic attack |

| This exact thing happens to me every time I smoke. I get this cold feeling in my chest, my heart beats super fast, my throat feels like its closing up, and I just all around freak out. It has gotten to the point where I want to smoke because the high is fun. But its not worth freaking out for an hour or two before I finally get used to it and start to relax. Another thing that I've learned is that all of my smoker buddies get high as they smoke. Its like they take a couple hits and theyre already high. I thought this was weird because no matter how little or how much iI smoke, I dont feel it until about 15-30 minutes after I'm finished smoking. Does anyone else have that problem? |

| Another thing I wanted to address is the fact that everyone keeps saying "I've been having panic attacks since I was _____. The weird thing is, or maybe its not that weird, but I dont have panic attacks when I'm sober. I ONLY have them when I get high |
