I get them when I am high. I hear noises and sounds that aren't there ESPECIALLY if I am afraid of getting caught or paranoid/stressed out.

Does it mean I am likely to develop schizo faster if I keep smoking? I don't have any family history and it happens once in a while only when I smoke.

First of all, I don't think you understand what "schizo" really is.
Second of all, there is no evidence that marijuana induces or aggravates schizophrenia whatsoever.

It seems sketchy, at best, though... At least to me.
Personally, I'd think there would be a lot more diagnosed schizophrenia considering the number of marijuana users.
Perhaps by statement about aggravating it may be misguided, however.

One of the things the human mind does all the time is try to make sense out of random sensory input. If you're out in the dark looking for your dog, you'll see dog shapes in combinations of light and shadows. The wind will sound like voices talking or singing. Kids see monsters in the closet.

One of the effects of marijuana is to enhance this trait. Back before I got control of my mind, police sirens a mile away were always coming after me. Any noises outside the house were the police sneaking up to knock down my front door. The wind was people talking about me. I was even freaked when I heard cars stop and their doors open.

It's not that the sounds and noises you hear aren't there. It's that they're very subtle and therefore open to misinterpretation as something threatening.

There is no credible evidence that marijuana contributes to developing schizophrenia. This new brand of Reefer Madness™ is currently very popular in the UK and Australia, but not elsewhere. The fact is that the rate of schizophrenia (1% of the population) holds constant in places where marijuana is rarely smoked and in places where large segments of the population are smokers.

You should also note that marijuana is very popular among schizophrenics. I've seen estimates that 60% of them are smokers. That may be the origin of the myth that marijuana somehow causes it. One schizophrenic smoker with whom I've corresponded says that getting high allows her to not take the voices in her head seriously.

Yeah, what Buzzby said. What you're experiencing is fairly common. If it's not bothering you enough to make you not want to smoke at all, I wouldn't worry about it. Also, try to smoke at times and places where it's not likely that you'll be caught...for more reasons than one .
