| I have been smoking everyday for the past couple of months, not excessively, just a joint or two at night... then i decided to go on a break for a week because i was getting the burnout too quickly, so a couple of days after i stop i start to feel ill... ive got a sore throat and a cold (even tho the weather is really hot for once) and i generally feel sickly. Its not like withdrawl symptoms or anything, I have NO craving for marijuana whatsoever, I just caught a bug. Anyway I remember this happening to me last time I decided to go on a break too (last year) I stopped smoking and after a couple of days I got ill. So do you think this is just coincidence or has smoking been keeping me healthy all this time???

| The thought that smoking weed keeps you from catching flu bugs etc is absurd. Imo this is all coincidence. |

I have a book about stuff like honey, garlic and vinegar being natural remedies against many ailments including colds and sore throats and many of them work ive tried it...so i was wondering if weed had similar properties |

| Smoking pot does not simply lower your immune system. It can have immunosuppressive and immunostimulating effects at times. There is no simple way to describe it. In some studies you read where is had significant negative effects, they used extremely high amounts of THC, sometimes the equivalent of a person smoking 700 joints. Studies have shown that cells taking from marijuana smokers had no immunity problems.
