| I live in ohio but i seen stuff bout marijuana depositories in california where people walk in wit prescriptions and choose whatever kinda weed they want. What kind of things do they write prescriptions for weed for? I also read that alot of doctors will just give out prescriptions for a price...is this true? Don't reply back trying to treat me like i'm dumb for asking such questions i was jus curious about how these kinds of things worked out there in cali. ![]() |

| No such thing as a "prescription" for medical marijuana. ![]() Doctors (and only doctors) can recommend it. California NORML 215physicians.html

| The way is works is that you bring your medical records to a marijuana-friendly doctor and if you have a condition that marijuana can alleviate you pay him around $200 and he writes you a prescription. You go to your local dispensary which has numerous flavors and varieties of weeds, kushes, edibles, etc. One time my buddy got weed BBQ sauce, went great with a lean piece of steak. ![]() kinda funny but there is a billboard in long beach that has a number 1-877-GOT-KUSH you call for medical weed appointment. |

| Which is exactly why we will lose any hope of adding states or keeping states with medicinal marijuana. Folks trying to play the system. But hey, what does it matter if those in need lose the option of having it, as long as idiots that just want to get high can get it while it lasts, right? |

How about this: Have a seperate review board look at all medpot applications. Send "suspect" applications to a neutral doctor for review. Monitor the number of "prescriptions" written by the doctors. Regulate the "compassion" clubs.....excessive prices would result in loss of licence.

Because such safeguards are not in place to prevent these sorts of abuses, you advocate the use of these loopholes by anyone who chooses to? Yeah, lets abuse a system that was setup for people who are genuinely ill for our own gain. Sorry, but this behavior positively disgusts me. The abusers of the system setup as a result of Prop215 in California are taking medicine away from patients. They are getting cannabis clubs shut down or investigated. Abusing a doc's recommendation for MMJ is just as bad ass stealing percocets from your grandmothers med cabinet. You're taking medication away from those that genuinely need it. It's also going to hinder any/all attempts at legalization, which is what we all want. -K fo you, sir.

The prices are higher in the compassion clinics but the patient receives a more standardized product. Older patients have money and do not want the hassle of growing. ![]()

| My feeling is that most people don't end up growing at home because cultivation is a felony in most places while simple possession is a misdemeanor.
