So I've noticed lately that my hair seems to have more body to it, but didn't think much of it until I took my shower today.

For the past... probably 2 years or more, whenver I take a shower and shampoo my hair, I have about a dozen or so strands of hair on my hands that I usually rub together to make a ball and then throw it out.

My hair isn't falling out, and I have no signs of bald spots, but apparently it would break easy.

So yeah, for the past 2 years that was my ritual.

I've been smoking now for about 2 weeks and I've noticed for the past 3 days after I shampoo my hair, there are no strands of hair on my hands.

Even if I scrub really hard, no hair on my hands.

Is this a side effect? Is "hippy hair" more than a stereotype? lol

Whether its from smoking or just a really great coincidence, I'm happy =)

I'm not sure but I have the same thing when I wash my hair I always get hair on my hands or chest or something. For me, I'm guessing it's because I don't wash my hair very much. My bad. :\

I use medical marijuana for weak hair.

I don't know, really. I guess we'd have to conduct a study, with multiple control groups, controlled shampoos, etc.

I was kidding.

My belief is that hair isn't influenced by the smoking of marijuana (except for the trace chemicals that are deposited). Hair and nails are basically the same cells (and so are feathers and scales), and my nails aren't any different.

Maybe you guys could convince a group of scientists to do a study on making hemp shampoo and conditioner. Unless they already have those... not sure.

Shibshib, I can't tell you if your smoking is affecting your hair growth. But I would guess to say it's probably not. Your hair is made up mainly of keratin; protein. And I can't see smoking weed as part of a high protein diet. So it's either coincidence or whatever you are eating when you get the munchies.

Perhaps then it has to do with me being a whole lot less stressed lately now that I have my anxiety in check.

And since you have been smoking for only the last 2 weeks, it's possible the helped you lower your stress levels, so inadvertantly it might have actually helped your hair.

Who knows. Our bodies are finicky and wonderful things sometimes. Take care of it and it takes care of you.
