| Understanding brethren, Have you ever had experiences where it seemed like smoking marijuana helped you cope with a malady/health problem? More precisely, have you ever smoked and then felt a heightened acuity of your body/muscles, which helped you be more aware of your body and what it would take to alleviate your pain/malady? In other words, has smoking up been 'therapeutic' to you? If so, could you please send me a short message? Don't worry about your name or personal info---just the city you live in & a short description of how it has helped you feel better. Ultimately, I plan to pool the data and use the results to persuade an organization or research scientist to look deeper into it. And maybe one day, we'll have a much more intelligent public policy regarding a harmless, natural, therapeutic drug. Thanks for your consideration and a huge thank you for a short response emailed to maryjane.amour at gmail do t c om. blaze on, -mja Last edited by maryjaneamour : 03-16-2008 at 06:00 AM. | Yes. Yes I have. I would not be a firm believer if otherwise. I tattoo in Tennessee, Florida, California and New York. I am always traveling and is always booked with clients. Me, Being legally blind in one eye, I simply put way to much strain on my good eye. After smoking just a little bit, It calms me down, relaxes my eye muscle so I do no strain. Relaxing is an important part in tattooing. It's a permanent mark on someones body. Without me being in pain, I do a much better job. Also, I feel that smoking cannabis, helps me artistically as well. Also, self education on how cannabis can help you. I read that smoking it helps asthma patiants. Me, once having a bad asthma problem. I was first a skeptic, and now a full out believer in the true potential of cannabis. Asthma free to this day! Good luck with your studies and best of luck to you! Last edited by Freedom_User : 03-17-2008 at 02:50 AM. |

| I smoked almost daily to help relieve myself of depression over a breakup. It helped while I was high, but coming down was pretty bad and friends said I was 'projecting' anger. Interestingly, the stuff I smoked made me very contemplative and seemed to "heighten my intelligence". I'm sure that goes against stereotypes in however many ways, but I recall using a much, much higher level of vocabulary than usual. Almost a clarity of thought, without distractions or worries weighing down the process. Words came easily, and without effort. I felt more outgoing and pleasant. I became the very man I strive to be in my day-to-day life. Relaxed, confident, social, in control, alert, intelligent (believe it), understanding... I wasn't stoned or high, I was.. how could you say it.. "aligned". Additionally, I seem to be much more aware of my physical range of motions than usual. I am on the swim team at my community college. While high, I improve my usual endurance in swimming, feel more oxygenated and less tired. My stroke is much more efficient, it seems like I can multitask on my body, making sure I'm performing the stroke exactly right. I really like this stuff I got =D If you have any questions about my experience in particular, just ask =D Yes, good luck with your endeavor! |

| well in my expereince it has help with my ADD when taken in small amounts, large amounts will not help at all but small amounts will help me, i use it "medicaly" but illegaly still, it also helps me sleep when i have a bowl befor i go to bed, otherwise i will sit awake for hour maybe 2 and on the rare occasion get no sleep what so ever, those are my 'medical' reasons but i have yet to get myself a medical card since my parents would have to sign off on it since i am still a minor other than that it will help me get over an stressful issue quicker because it gives me a few hours to relax and think about it without having to worry nearly as much, lately its seemed like i've had alot of issues my friends bike getting stolen, his girlfriend almost getting raped(she got away and we know who did it), my car getting broken into, my homies getting charged with rape(bullsh*t he didnt rape a guy, he has gotten with to many girls to count befor and after this 'incident', and they are going for money not a sentence), my other friend was with him and it 'happened' 3 years ago, but they got the papers in soon enough), my friends brother who im very chill with hes like family knocked up his girl, my friends car getting totalled and his mom on off topics, another friend of mines mom is on off topics to, another good friend is now in a group home with f*cked up reasons behind it, all those things within about a month isnt very fun but i have managed to keep my head together by using larger amounts MJ to give me a break for a few hours every time i get overwhelmed hope this helps |

| I used to be on opiates for chronic pain, but I stopped those for the most part to use marijuana as medicine. It has really helped me a lot. Pain, nausea, etc.

| C..All of the above....I use herb medically and have for years. I have a meriad of health problems, so I have a great deal of experience with it, and would recommend it. But, this is only my personal experience, so it must be taken with a grain of salt, as what works for some may not work for others........ ![]() I want to add that I am also hyper sensitve to some medications. I am trying right now to reach a balance with one medication but it is elavating my mood and causing a lack of sleep at times. I'm not a doctor and don't feel safe making medical recommendatios without a full medical history and family illnesses history, just like a doctor would. It's probably best to ask one because if he's prescibing the meds he would be the best judge of the effects. I need to remember though that ultimately, I must be the judge of the medications effects on me and act accordingly. If I need more I need more, less, less. Herb isn't like that. I recieve great pain relief from fibro myalgia pain and it works great on occular pressure from histoplasmosis. The best thing for me is back pain relief from degenerative disc dsiease and several other lower back problems. If the people only knew........ | If you take a moment to read some of my prior posts, you will see just how severe my anxiety was getting. I used to take 54mg of Concerta daily to treat my ADHD, and to treat my growing anxiety+inability to sleep (forget the technical word), the doctor wanted to get me on Xanax after Lexapro failed me (with horrible side effects). I no longer take any of that. Currently, I self-medicate with marijuana and a vaporizer. I've been doing so for almost a month now, and it is absolutely amazing. I am sleeping better than I have ever slept. I am waking up better than I have ever woken up. I am more focused at work. I'm less stressed out at home. I haven't had an anxiety attack since I started (i used to have atleast 1 horrible one per week). Even more so, I am saving over $100 a month on medication, even though insurance doesn't cover marijuana, it is much cheaper than the synthetic garbage I had been taking. I can honestly, without a doubt, say that my life has exponentially improved since I have gone natural, rather than synthetic, when it comes to medication. I can't even describe how great it feels to be able to take on my life as a whole, rather than living day-to-day in a roller coaster of emotions on my old junk. I live in Southern California. |
