Anyone watch this on HBO? its pretty good show. Nice view of life as a recon marine.

Now im not in the army, but this seems generally accurate.

I think the war from the perspective of a Rolling Stone reporter that was embedded with the Marine Recon is a good story. Have to read the book I think because it will have more info. Movies just can't tell the whole story....

It looks like it would be really good. Actually showing the more positive side of the whole thing. About the people and everything. Just how it really all is.

I'm surprised that for a small miniseries there are able to pull off some pretty impressive battle scenes and good use of CGI (in the first episode nearly the entire camp was CGI as well as the fleet of Marines barreling down that highway).

Good stuff though and I will continue to watch.

Ok, just finished watching it
I'll admit I was impressed by the professionalism of the show. As Twistable said, I'm impressed with some of the scenes and effects they used.

However, I have never been into battle or war shows/movies. Maybe that's why I wasn't really interested in the show to begin with. It's definitely a good program, just not my cup of tea.

I just got home a little while ago from being at my friends house smoking and watching this. Was crazy watching it while I was high and I pretty much saw all 3 episodes there. I like that godfather character lol.He's always got those great speeches that make you wanna go kick some ass! Another crazy show we had on for a while was Jurassic fight club on History. Was interesting seeing dinosaurs and how they fought each other.

Just watched the fourth episode. While clearing a village for mortars the marines find a giant stash of pot. They leave it their to as to inhibit their means of income.

Haven't seen the show, but I've read the book Generation Kill which I'm assuming the show is based on. Mad respect for that book. It's brutally written, in a good way.
