I saw it in the theaters and thought it was great. I went in expecting a movie about a monster stomping around and destroying shit, and thats what I got.

It didn't interest me either and I sat through it. I hate it when the movie hype is better than the movie.

I largely ignored the hype and watched it...stoned as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it considering the length, though I could've done without the love backstory. Most people I know that complained about it for being shaky and they saw it in the theater...even though warnings were posted about it. Frankly, I think that's their own damn fault. The handheld cam gave the movie its atmosphere...at least it wasn't an artificial shaky cam like, say...Bourne Ultimatium.

Now I'd watch it again if it was "re-imagined" and done with a story plot and creature developement.
