| If you're talking about Spencer and O'Hara at the end of the 09/05/2008 episode, he's had a crush on her since episode 1. Taking two and a half seasons to get to the point of almost holding hands doesn't seem very "mushy" to me. By the time they're in their 60s they might even have sex!  I think the sexual tension between Shawn and Gus is much more extreme. Gus isn't a pawn. He's a queen.
