“Addiction is a brain disease that kills. Steve suffered from the profound consequences of long-standing polydrug addiction. The disease brought him to the edge of sanity and one night nearly took his life,” said Dr. Drew Pinsky. “His recovery has been an inspiring but gut-wrenching process. Steve remains an inspiration to all. Those that have come to know him through this process love him.”
“This documentary captures the most frightening moments of my friend at the apex of his addiction. I know because I was there,” said Johnny Knoxville. “More importantly though it offers hope, and documents the tremendous amount of courage and hard work on Steve-O’s behalf to turn that hope into a healthy person.”
Steve-O, a self-professed ham in front of the video camera, never leaves home without it. Since his early teens, Steve-O has captured moments of his life on tape, including everything from his days as an amateur stuntman and flea-market clown to his rise to fame as popular member of “Jackass” and “Wildboyz.” Consequently, the darkest hours of Steve-O’s life are also captured. Viewers will see moments of extreme substance abuse, including the marathon nitrous oxide sessions, terrorizing his next door neighbor, his ill-fated attempt at being a gangsta-rapper and several infamous public displays of self-destructive behavior. All of Steve-O’s antics lead to his friends stepping in, turning off the camera and forcibly admitting him to the medical center where he was forced to begin the process of learning to live sober.

What do you guys think of this? I think MTV might try to bash weed in it. I hope not. Anyone else plan on watching it?

Yeah, I have it set to record. Only time will tell on the bashing part. But I bet there will be a fair share of abovetheinfluence commercials.

He was into more harder drugs than just pot though, I'm sure they'll cover that more as there are far more interesting stories to tell with OT's rather than marijuana.

Yeah I cant wait to see the show. Steve O seems like a pretty cool guy and I didnt even know about his problems with drugs until I saw a commercial for it. I always like to watch intervention and celebrity rehab shows. For some reason its just facinating.

There are a lot of people out there with addictive personalities. They're usually pretty easy to spot. And it does seem to be some sort of brain chemistry issue. Its sad that a lot of the people that I have known didn't use weed as there drug of choice. Its just so much easier to control and the benefits far outway the bad.

I also saw him roll a joint with pubes in it and have one of his friends smoke it.(He got him twice. A joint + bong) Hilarious reactions.

I agree. I think, for me, what's interesting is everybody looks to these people as something special because they're celebrities. And, don't get me wrong, most of them have some AMAZING talent, but it's nice to see them stoop down a level and realize that they are still legit, real people and they have the same problems as us ordinary, un-famous people do. Especially when it comes to addiction. It just shows a completely different side of them.
