i saw it last night..

personally i would give it 2.5-3 stars out of 5.

to me, they just over did it with the story line and sound effects.

everytime a robot was on screen there was so much noise going, the graphics were great and all, the fight scenes were fun but that was about it.

so much strain on the eyes just bc youre watching alot of complex graphics (transforming/fighting).

but overall it was overhyped. again, the story was just too much, too much going on "we need to find this, now we gotta go here, now we gotta do this, oh no bad robots!" it was just too complicated and really should have been a more simple plot.

uuugh fuuuck transformers.

I hated the first one, and the second one looks like complete shit. Micheal. Bay. Sucks.

The acting was terrible in the first one. Megan Fox is FIIIINE but she can't act for shit, and Shia wasn't that special either. The dialouge was the worst, though. Each and every line was just cringeworthy and the way it was delivered didn't help. Whether it was the human characters or the robots, they all fucking sucked.

Next was the "action." It was terrible. Maybe giant CGI robots is fun in a video game, where you can control them and shit, but in this movie it was just terrible. It just looked like giant CGI piles of garbage piling up together. It's not "special" effects if they're the entire movie. It was just plain boring to watch.

Lastly the movie was just plain boring. For the reasons stated above, there was no reason that movie had to be made, especially by Micheal Bay.

The second movie is getting even worse reviews that the first, and I heard that it has basically NO plot, NO good dialouge, and is a disgrace to american cinema.

Don't think of me as a movie elitist, though. I love a good mindless film, whether it's comedy or action or whatever. It still has to be "GOOD" though. Not good like "oh, Academy award nomination!!" but good as in, enjoyable. Not a pain to sit through and watch.

So no, I'm not planning on seeing it.

I thought the whole ending of the first one sucked.

It'll definitely keep me entertained for a couple of hours.

I want to see, I liked the first one and I'm sure I'll enjoy this one. I understand that it's not something to go crazy thinking about, it's 2 hours of exciting eye candy and I appreciate that.

And why all the hate on Michael Bay? He's not a bad movie maker at all. It seems the people that don't like him don't understand that they aren't forced to watch the movies he makes. There are plenty of movies made by directors that I don't like but I understand they have their niche and I don't comment on them being sucky and the guys right to make movies to be taken away.

Michael Bay = big summer movie with lots of eye candy. Some people like that, some don't, but you can hardly say it sucks and complain that the guy shouldn't make movies.

I haven't seen the movie, but I love the reviews... esp the one on io9. it is un-fucking-believable.

io9 - Michael Bay Finally Made An Art Movie - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

You should really read the whole thing, but here is a reader's digest condensed version -

Quote:
Imagine that you went back in time to the late 1960s and found Terry Gilliam, fresh from doing his weird low-fi collage/animations for Monty Python. You proceeded to inject Gilliam with so many steroids his penis shrank to the size of a hair follicle, and you smushed a dozen tabs of LSD under his tongue. And then you gave him the GDP of a few sub-Saharan countries. Gilliam might have made a movie not unlike this one.

Quote:
LaBoeuf projects a pathetic, wall-eyed dorkhood, when he's not babbling like a tumor removed from Woody Allen's prostate that somehow achieved sentience.
Quote:
And he has the hottest girlfriend in the universe, Megan Fox, for whom banality is a huge aphrodisiac. The more pathetic Sam gets, the more Fox's lips pout and her nipples point, like little Irish setters.
Quote:
...part of your brain that thinks it would be awesome to see robots with giant dangling testicles, or hot chicks turning into robot tentacle monsters, or "ghetto" robots that talk in inept hip-hop slang and smash each other playfully, or funny Jewish men who talk about their "schmear" and randomly strip to their G-strings. Is that going too far? Then let's go 100 times farther than that and see what happens!
Quote:
Transformers: ROTF is so long, you'll need to wear adult diapers to it. But the movie's pure celebration of the primal urge, and unfiltered living, will make you rejoice in your adult diapers. You'll relieve yourself in your seat with a savage joy, your barbaric yawp blending in with the crowd's screams of excitement.
Quote:
...after you fall into a brazen despair that the walls of reality have become toxic ice cream of a million flavors, you will gasp with a greater realization: that once the world is reduced, forever, to a kaleidoscope of whirling shapes, you are totally free. Nothing matters, effect precedes cause, fish spawn in mid-air, and you can do whatever you want. Let yourself go in your adult diaper, Michael Bay invites you.

i personally thought it was pretty good.
but i went into it with low low expectations.
after rewatching the first one... i realized it was complete crap.
but they did a bit better job with the fights. in the first you couldn't tell who it was or who was winning.
and the story is slow but... come on... its bay..
so... 3 stars

oh and by the way... i hated those "black" autobots... very offensive. thumbs down for that.

This movie was terrible. Bad CGI. Bad plot (if you could even call it a plot). Bad bad bad.

The fight scenes were incredible, but I agree the plot was overly complicated.

Megan Fox is beautiful.
