tenchi muyo is one of the first animes i have ever seen. thanks to its utter insanity and tenchi being a "pimp" it helped me become the otaku iam today (besides transformers). the only thing i didnt like about tenchi muyo besides the toonami version is the wierdo spin offs like the weird tench in tokyo and magical girl sasami (cough sailor moon rip off cough cough)
well anyway iam just rambling lol. If you like tenchi try out el hazard.

Well everything that I like has already been mentioned.... everything that is except Trigun! Yea!!!!!!! I remember before the meltdown someone told me they didnt like it, because it was so comedic... not so my friend, it starts to get serious about half way through, and the last 2 DVDs aren't even out yet! This promises to be good... so check it out!

And one more.... Lain.......... OMG, it soooooo f*cked up. Its crazy from the begining, unlike most other crazy animes (i.e. Neon Genesis) but unfortunately it doesnt have any deeper meaning, just crazzzzzzzzzyness. Its fun tho.

Annnnnnnnd I have a gripe, Americanized anime..... hate i, hate it, hate it. I loved Escaflowne.... then it came out on fox... good god, could they screw it up more???

Agree with you on X,in order to get the full story on X read the X manga. Ill try Trigun though (even though Cowboy Bebop is the ****). Now iam into manga now,
i already read all of the Blade of the Immortal manga out now (a freaking awesome manga btw) and just got the Ghost in the Shell manga today(much much better then the boring movie). So bascilly my anime collecting is at a hault right now

Hey! Tenchi's not a pimp... that would imply him sharing the love, which he doesn't do. And actually the only stuff I have seen are the toonami versions. Can't wait until I can buy the boxed set of the real stuff on dvd... I like tenchi in tokyo too, but not as much as tenchi muyo. I like the deformed animation, but I wish the whole thing wasn't centered around Sakuya. Never seen pretty sammy except for a cameo or two in the other shows. But I don't like sailor moon. The total insanity is definately one of the best parts of some anime. I love the idea of a half-cat/half-rabbit creature that grows from a plant and turns into a spaceship when you fling him in the air. There's a whole bunch of stuff I have to see yet, I'll put El Hazard on the list. Oh, I just saw Princess Mononoke too... mindblowing. A world you could get lost in.

I don't think I could pick a favourite...of course there's Akira and yeah Vampire Hunter D is a quality film.

I think my most watched movies would be 3x3 Eyes...the series of vids that is. I never really get bored of them even after all this time.

I recently brought Street Fighter Alpha..that's rapidly becoming one of my most favourite anime/manga type films.

The only anime that I watch on a semi-regular basis are Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. I love the "space western" theme of CB, and the characters. It's like watching a pretty good scifi show that happens to be animated.

Trigun is not too bad, but what really pushes it over into the realm of quality is the music...just fantastic. It's one of the few shows that I would want the soundtrack for. The music just makes the show so much better than it would be without it. My hats are off to the composers.

Haven't followed the anime/manga scene for a long time but my faves are:

Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, Fist of the North Star, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, Akira & Cyber City Oedo 808

My favorite animes are: Akira, Neon Genesis, Jin Roh, Ninja Scroll, and most of all LupinIII.

My favorite Mangas are: Akira, most japanese comics, except girls comic book.

Lupin is by far the most favorite anime of all times at least for me.

And Akira was so much well written in the comic, rather then the movie, and I read the comic before I saw the movie and I thought the movie was pure crap compared to the Manga.

Puni Puni Poemi (anime on speed,meth,crack, total insanity)
FLCL (a ****ing classic )
Wolfs Rain (awesome post apochaylptic series dealing with wolves)
Texhnolyze (a dark, disturbing and cryptic anime about cybernetics)
Boogiepop Phantom (another dark,disturbing anime)
Angelic Layer (a good fighting anime thats a bit girlish)
