I loooved this movie. It made me think, it entertained me, and it made me just a little glad for unreality.

~~goodgirl, you hit the nail on the head. way too much criticism is being thrown at this movie. more people need to sit back and open their mind up, and look at this flick as a form of entertainment, and a way to dwell into the "rabbit hole, and see just how deep it goes." dont watch this movie and think that it is forcing ideas into your head, watch it openly and creativly. you will enjoy it much more!

The thing is movies aren't just entertainment to all of us. To me, movies are art. The Matrix was a decent movie, fairly well made, raised some very interesting philsophical questions, but didn't live up to the hype.

And Keanu Reeves may be the worst actor in Hollywood, which is full of bad actors. Bill & Ted was the movie he was born for, why he has a career at all after that I have no idea. But that's just my opinion.

sorry I just wanna throw in that this movie only revealed some shallow philosophy I'm used to hear from kids at the peak of their puberty so I dont see the whole point of the movie being philosophical anyway..

Angry how can you say that....

i got just one question for you boodah, where do you get the right to call someone elses oppinion or their philosiphical outlook on life "shallow?" until you can prove the point of out existance one way or another, then i wont let you make comments like that with no rebutal.(spelling?)sorry...thats another forum though but thats my quarters worth.

For the record: I also like Keanu Reeves

I wasn't impressed with his acting in Bill and Ted's and thought people were insane that told me how great he was. Then I saw him in "Speed" and I completely changed my mind

I don't know, maybe it is a female thing

Or possibly just a "doesn't get out enough" thing

P.S. I try not to pay any attention to any "hype" given about a movie. I have had too many movies ruined for me because I walked away with a sense of disapointment because it wasn't what I expected. Now I try to wait and form my own opinions that way I am able to enjoy it more.

Most hype is all advertising, and I don't think I have ever seen an ad for a movie that didn't claim it was going to be the best movie ever made. Since obviously most movies aren't going to fall into that catergory it is usually safer to wait and see for yourself.

wait a minute, what do you mean by proving the point of out existence? .. I cant nor I want to prove anything, I for my part just follow an own doctrine which has led many to enlightenment (I hate that word btw) before which I hope to reach some day as well and it's never been my intention to influence or critisize anyone in his outlook on the world, honestly.
I think I just didnt choose my words careful enough, I'm sorry..
but I hope you can agree with me when I say that you can make out so-called philosophy (whatever that term is supposed to mean anyway) that is not thought through very well but tries to sound fascinating and pretentious, but really is a bunch of ****.. well the matrix seemed like that to me, but thats just me..
oh actually I hate to talk about such things.. speech is the gate that leads to suffering, a zen master once said, I like that sentence a lot, I find it fitting almost too often.

Smile ok

boodah, i understand what you are saying. i am sorry too, for i did jump down your throat. i understand the way look at the world and have respect for your beliefs...i am just a firm believer in looking at every situation from as many perspectives as i can, you know, to get the whole story. and that is why i jumped on you, because the matrix was just another explination (maybe not that good of one) for our being. glad that is cleared up.

The Matrix is a pretty fine movie...I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday when I watched it for the 1st time in months.

It kinda freaked me out a bit...I was watching the sequence where he touches the mirror and it kinda ripples, I thought that'd be real cool if it happened in real life. Anyway I got the urge to touch my screen so I did...nearly gave me a heard attack when I saw it ripple. I calmed down after I remembered it was a laptop screen and they do that anyway...I felt pretty stupid for the first few minutes.

Take it easy y'all
