Thumbs up

One of my top 10 flicks, even more meanigful if you're past 30.

Fight Club marked the tail end of an enormous amount of growth in my life...it was started by The Matrix about six months earlier.

There was a time when I was watching it at least once a month...I've backed away from that in favor of a few new favorites, one of which is, strangely, Moulin Rouge!

How exactly does it become more meaningful as you turn 30? How come the line is drawn there?

I think you've missed out if you haven't seen it before you turned 18, it has this whole different perspective that you can only understand through a minor's eye.

Well, being past 30, I can say that there are things in the film that apply to my own experiences and those of many of my peers.

The conversation where they discuss talking to Dad over the years is particularly telling.

Palahniuk says Tyler's dialogue came from conversations he had with friends as they rounded 30, so my point was that the closer you are to that age, the more likely you'll have seen a lot of what inspired the movie.

I would guess that the true advantage in seeing it under 18 is you can take it as a warning of what society has in store for you...and avoid it.

Hah, actually my post was pretty sarcastic. Sorry DesiredFX, my ignorance made me jump the gun.

Definitely sober, but it's very fun to watch stoned, of course.

Actually, now that I pretty much know the movie back to front, I really like watching it stoned, and every now and then, I still pick up on tiny things I never have before. I really take notice of the music as well.

That's an awesome flick. I've seen it three or four times, but I'd watch it again.

Default an idea...

i wanna have a buncha stickers made up, ones that say " I AM my f*cking khakis" then stick them on vehicles and property belonging to those it most applies to...

the funniest thing is, i doubt that anyone who received a sticker would understand it.

FC's my favorite movie, i'll get the hankering to watch it about once a month...
