Hey cats, I just watched an amazing film, 'Requiem for a Dream.' From the split-screen shots, to the trippy hallucinations, this movie offers a lot to take in and see. Visually, the movie is stunning, spectacular, and vibrant. Mentally, this movie messes with your brain to the extent that you find yourself sitting there asking, "What the---" over and over. It's truly and intense and jaw-dropping flick!

It also reaffirms just why I won't ever be involved in the consumption of any hard drugs. Ever.

I suggest you all go rent it and try (just try) not to finish the movie. I guarantee it'll suck you in and not let go until half of the final credits have passed by with you staring in disbelief with your jaw down to your knees.

Requiem is amazing, but a complete farce....

It's portrayl of hard drugs is so amazingly off base it's not even funny...

I attended a viewing of Requiem where the director was present and giving commentary, turns out the director has never even done drugs, and it showed, painfully...

It's shot so maazing it makes up for it, but there are some MAJOR flaws...such as...

I fail to believe there is only one heroin dealer in all of New York, so the girl did NOT have to whore herself out, the city has millions of people, surely there is more than one dealer...

Any real junkie would shoot in the other arm, or his leg, or thigh, or neck, ANYWHERE but that arm, it was mind numbingly dumb...

And why would both of them go to the hospital, of course he would be suspected of drugs use, any real junkie would drop him at the door....

If the mother began to hallucinate from the pills, why didn't she scale back or STOP taking them before it got too far, she was a coherent intelligent woman at a time...

Above all the movie was total fantasy, when I asked the director if he thought he could make a realisitc movie about drugs having never done them, ne replied, "no comment"

Afterwards I commented to him that I wished the movie was more realisitc, he replied "I was more going for drama..."

Honeslty hard drugs are demonized by movies like this that show such an innacurate portraly it's like believe those stupid propaganda movies from the 30's about pot...

Great story, sadly, it was nothing more than a story, very little reality to it...

Just enjoy it for what it is! Don't dissect it that way... You ruin it!

i thought it was pure eye-candy. a very great movie to watch.....i liked it when the mother was on those pills, she was cracked out, it was funny.

Why can't he dissect it? Believe it or not, there are movies (and other forms of art) which will stand up to that sort of deep criticism and still wind up on top.
