| None of you know true old school SNL, do you? The ones from the mid seventies I mean. While the topics are old they are funny as hell. I loved the chris farley era, to. But then I liked the mid nineties era of jim bruer(spelling?) and chris kataan. Are ya'll forgetting about how funny tim meadows is?? How about our pot smoking friend Tracy Morgan? Don't forget about Tracy Morgan! How about Mango? How about it huh? Nothing could match the ladie's man. How can you not like the ladies man? And everyone knows that every single thing Will Ferell does is hilarious. They always have the best guests compared to mad tv. Also, what about Nick Burns, your company's computer guy. It's hilarious! And when they had Rob Lowe on and Ralph Nader made an appearance, it was great cuz Nader was like "I'll legalize weed, they don't call it the green party for nuttin'." And no one's political skits can match SNL's. They have a monopoly on that category. Don't forget Mr. Peepers either. Nor should you forget the very funny commercial spoofs they have. Of course maybe I'm a hypacrite, I haven't seen but one Mad TV episode. | |

| You guys are right. SNL has gone WAY downhill. My favorite era is definitely the early 70's with Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, John Belushi, etc. That whole cast was just so AMAZINGLY talented, and everyone knows that those cats smoked A LOT of weed, and probably took a few bong hits during commercial breaks. I don't know about you, but I think it would have been AWESOME to toke with the likes of Chevy Chase and Bill Murray. I think the next best cast was probably the late 80's/early 90's with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, David Spade, etc. I loved that sketch where Rob Schneider played that stoner store clerk, and kept saying "You can put your WEEEEED in it." I heard that marijuana use was rampant throughout SNL's evolution, although I'm not sure about today's cast. I'm guessing that Tracy Morgan and Chris Kattan are major stoners, though. As for Molly Shannon, all of her characters were SO incredibly hackneyed. If they didn't revolve around repeating the same line, they revolved around her spreading her legs. Didn't she end up showing her underwear in, like, EVERY Mary Catherine Gallagher sketch?! All her characters just obnoxious and annoying, as was Cheri Oteri...little woman with loud, grating voice that could probably induce siezures!!!! | |
