I'd just like to know what kind of morals MTV has (in terms of music, yeah, I know, music on MTV?! That still happens?) cause I dont know if any of you have seen/heard the song "Hashpipe" by Weezer but on MTV they edit out hash and call the song simply "Pipe." It blanks it out and makes it sound like they're talking about a crackpipe if you ask me but then I was watching MTV again and it had the song "What would you do?" by City High. A part of the chorus (which is repeated many times) says "we're smokin' rock now" .. obviously cociane .. so why is MTV so against marijuana yet other drugs are somehow "okay" .. sorry for the long post ... but seriously .. whats with that?:\

i can stand mtv anymore, what ever happened to the awesome commercials and the funny vj's? now all you see, no offence, is nothing but rap videos and tv shows aimed at the perfect looking human. i dont like it, no offence.

Seriously, MTV is the worst thing to happen to music since disco (and that's saying a lot). So many awful, awful "musicians", most can't play anything and can't even sing (ProTools anyone?), i.e. the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Briteny spears, etc, etc., wouldn't even have careers if not for MTV.

MTV doesn't really even have anything to do with music anymore. The top 1% of the business, in terms of revenue, also happens to be about the bottom 1% in terms of talent. Why can't I turn on MTV and hear something by the Flaming Lips or Medeski Martin and Wood? Why do they keep jamming that same repetetive pop crap down our throats while ignoring the people who are actually doing something new and exciting and innovative? You have to work to hear good music, isn't there something wrong with that?

Sorry for the rant, but I'm sick of that stuff. And I'm sick of a channel with Music in it's name catering to people who dont' even really like music. But I digress...........

I live in Canada so we get MuchMusic and they don't bleep out hash (I only saw it once at it was the premier so maybe they didn't have to time to get rid of it).

Yes, yes it does. It has funny vjs (Ed is great most of the time). Plays tons of music even though most of it is crap pop but oh well and it doesn't have shows running almost 24/7 like MTV. Bless Canada!

I agree that mtv sucks, just a observation I made. I rarely watch mtv, if I do its mainly at like 3 in the morning when they actually have videos playing, but as hippie noted all they play now is rap music for the most part ... but I like some rap, like snoop and everything .. but mtv really has gone way down hill:\\

Yesterday before they played hashpipe, one of the chick VJ's was out on the street and got a 9 year old-lookin kid to say "this is hash pipe by weezer on much" or something and then the VJ giggled and said in a girly way "Omigod that is sooo cute!"

While MTV is calling the freakin thing "pipe," we Canadians are getting cute little kids to say hash and then giggling, yeah!! We ARE gonna legalize it soon and leave the US to look like morons!!
