Exclamation Read The Book

If you thought the movie was good, try reading the book and looking at the trippy art inside when stoned. I did a 20 sack in my new vaporizer and started reading, I didn't look up for two hours. The lizard scene & golf shoes scene in the movie is nothing compared to the pics in the book.

Vaporize,
Matt

Man the book is like 30 times better than the movie. It's way easier to follow.

I really feel that the movie version of Fear and Loathing is one of the best adaptations ever. There was very little left out. Nothing that I could complain about, anyway. Plus, it's about one tenth the effort to sit on your fat gourd and watch a movie. When you read you gotta, like, turn the page and think and stuff.

If you like the movie, you should read the book. It's good for you. Seriously.

Yep, I'd agree with that. I saw the movie first, before I read the book, and I remember being pretty confused as to what the hell was going on.

Funny thing is, after reading the book I watched the film again - and this time I loved it. So I reckon it kinda hinges on whether or not you've read the book first. Which is weird, because it's usually the other way around with adaptations, isn't it? I still think the book is better, but it's nice to have it available in a nice video-soluble form for having at parties and stuff.

I do think that Terry Gilliam was a bit self-indulgent with it, though. There are a few bits where you get the impression he was just looking for an excuse to make up all this mad imagery, and he's kind of forgetting about the story... but that's a minor quibble.

Anyway, for anyone who hasn't read/seen it... as your lawyer, I *advise* you to read this book... you won't need much, just a tiny drop...
