I just finished watching Breaking It Down and there is only one word that I can use to describe that show: Infuriating!

Marijuana is much more potent than it was 20 years ago…so it is very dangerous

Sure, it is more potent, but why does that matter? They were so quick to say how dangerous marijuana is, but they never bothered to back up their claim. Why is it dangerous?

X number of people are admitted to hospitals each year with marijuana related injuries

Again, they don’t back this up with anything. How many people are admitted to hospitals because they choked on a hotdog? Does this mean that hotdogs should be illegal? Were other factors involved?

Marijuana leads to harder drugs

I hate this argument more than any other. They don’t back this claim up at all. They don’t even attempt it. They pass it off as fact.

If there is one thing that I learned from this show is that MTV doesn’t deserve my respect. I heard that MTV was airing a show about marijuana and I immediately assumed that they were going to have an informative show about how marijuana laws are inappropriate and how it has medical benefits. What did I see when I turned on my TV? I saw Serena Altschul mocking people who were inside medical cannabis clubs. I would like to intoduce Serena Altschul to Robin Prosser. Let's see how she feels about medical marijuana after she meets Robin.

Altschul called herself a journalist during this show. I don’t believe that. A journalist is expected to deliver factual, unbiased information. I am saddened by this show. I look at MTV as the voice of today’s youth. If the children turn on their televisions and see their favorite personality telling them that marijuana is dangerous and leads to other drugs, they are going to believe this. It is certainly a sad day for us all.

I too was infuriated with some of the things they were saying. One of the doctors from Columbia University was talking about how the more potent the marijuana, the more dangerous. He didn't even back it up with any information at all.

Although I don't like a lot of the things they said, I thought it was cool as hell seeing dank buds and dank pieces gettin chiefed all up on mtv. Music television? Try Marijuana television! My favorite part was when they're in the one club in B.C. and the one guy blows a huge ass rip all in her face and she gets this sour look trying to avoid the smoke.
