Great movie. Loved all the duels / battles. The story development wasn't bad either.

If you guys dig the lightsaber stuff, check out Jedi Knight II -- majolry fun game, especially while blazed.

This may make me seem like a big dork, but whatever. One of the largest parts of the Dark Side is giving in to anger. This scene was done to show that he has a tendency to give into his anger and allow his "Dark" emotions through. The Jedi are taught to keep all that under control. Don't you remember Yoda's little "Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering" speech from either Empire or Jedi?(I forget which) That is what is being put across when he kills the Tuskans.

Read the book if you really want to get into this story. It doesn't have the groovy visuals, but the story really is strong in print.

Also, you have to understand that they are trying to give background on the characters from the other movies. They are establishing the romantic relationship between Padme and Anakin because they are Luke and Leia's parents. They established that Anakin has ties to Owen and Beru because they are who Luke lives with at the beginning of A New Hope. Also Bail Organa was in the movie because Leia goes to live with him later on. They are creating a web of social connections to explain what happens in the original trilogy. C'mon, did any of you know why the hell Leia would live on Alderaan when she is Anakin's daughter? They are trying to tie up these loose ends.

We have to know at least some of the reason why Anakin and Padme f*cked and had their two kids. I'm sure in the third movie we'll probably get why the kids had to be kept from Anakin in detail. Sure, we all know that if he'd kept them he'd train them in the Dark Side, but that's not a very strong point to make with no background.

Also, I can't be the only one who sees that Chancellor Palpatine is the Emperor, can I? They show that Anakin listens to him and thinks highly of him, that is another part of his transformation into Vader. They are showing us exactly why Anakin would turn to the Dark Side and how it happened. I, for one, am glad that they don't insult our intelligence by just saying "He's bad, deal with it!"

Just got back from watching episode 2 again, and its very entertaining even after watching it once before. I timed the scene where yoda comes in from when he starts to use the force, to when he moves that boulder thing from falling on anakin and obi wan, and that whole scene is a mere 2 minutes and 23 seconds long. Its kinda sad that I timed it, but I thought a few people might be interested to know. Peace-

Yah, I've noticed that since I first saw Episode 1 (no kidding). I think they're definitely doing that part VERY well.

A lot of people didn't like Episode 2, but I think once the whole thing gets finished off (a la episode tres), people will apreciate the way that this movie set up the next one SO WELL!

i thought the Tuscan killing spree was a bit corny acting job, but it does help tie in how Anakin tends to side more on the Darkside and whatnot.

Hah, no, considering he is Emperor Palpatine, it didn't take long to match the two up. I don't specifically remember if they call him Emperor Palpatine at any point in 4, 5, or 6, but the name has been fairly well documented elsewhere long before 1 or 2 were released.

And I did just finish reading the novel.... it does tie up a lot of empty spaces in the movie.

I left early. The movie was the most terrible movie I have seen in a long time. The classics kick ass. Episode 2, however, had bad actors and a terrible dialouge(spelling)Special effects can't make a movie.
