I heard somewhere that 420 was something the police said. For example "Theres a 420 in progress" means "someones smoking pot"

Theres a few adverts in the UK that seem sort of cannabis related. Theres a car advert thats all psychadehlic and at the end it says 'Made under the influence of Jimi Hendrix'
Also theres some adverts for food that look like stoners on the munchies. Like the Bueno advert when a guy walks into the shop and a chocolate bar starts talking to him.

yes 420 is a police thing.

best pot reference (not 420 though) ever was the taco bell commercial with the fat guy sitting in a big red cushoned room. he gets a smile on his face and runs across the room to a refigerator and opens to find that it is empy. he stands up and yells to the sky.

the camera pans out and you see that the room was the stomach of a guy sitting on a couch. he turns to his friend and says in a lazy voice "dude, are you hungry?"

actually, its not a police code. (unless 42064 is concidered as just plain 420..)here's a thread retaining to the meaning of "420"

i watch tv maybe once a month or so, and even then its for a short time, so i never really take the time to pay attention to the commercials. i just want to know, for the past week everytime i look at the clock in the afternoon i see it change from 4:19 to 4:20 or from 4:20 to 4:21 hmm, the world may never know...

ive heard lots of things like the police code and even fr fetched propaganda as it having to do with hitler but that couldn't be more ridiculous since people who smoke are usually very nice people, just what ive heard but who really knows
