While i was watching the tube tonight, a commercial came on (oo, amazing eh?).

Anyways, it was the 2003 Nissan Maxima commercial... maybe some of you have seen it?

Anyways, it says:
"UFO Sightings: 420", then the car goes by and it says "UFO Sightings: 421" .. but the actual commercial doesn't matter..

Gee, 420, where did they come up with that number?
I'm guessing either they're trying to draw a reference between marijuana and aliens, or there's a stoner working in the marketing department.

Either way, i got a very good chuckle out of it, as it caught me off guard and i certainly wasn't expecting it.

Anyways, has does anyone else know what i'm talking about? Has anyone else noticed in some commercials subtle references that might suggest a marketing ploy, or perhaps just a stoner having fun?

I've seen a few on TV, but I can only remember one.

On this show called A Current Affair down here, they were covering a story where some guy in a wheel chair caught a taxi from Brisbane to Adelaide (like 2500km) and they were filming the meter of another taxi and it read 4.19 and ticked over to 4.20.

it was a little bit ago, but there was a juicy fruit commercial where some "scientists" were behind a one way window and in front of the window was the side walk with a bear trap on it. one the bear trap was a stick of juicy fruit, a guy walks by and grabs it and gets caught anyway, on the scientists' side, there was a clock above them and it read 4:20 on it. that always gave me a good laugh.

ozone - there's a thread somewhere on how 420 was formed... it was something to do with school kids and meeting after school to smoke at 4:20 (dont beat me if im wrong, eheh)

Anyways, it's national "time to get stoned" at 4:20, and 4/20 (april 20th) is the "stoner day" sort of thing...
