Thumbs up Minority Report

I saw this on monday and i must say it is quite the decent movie to go see if your bored. The story line is intense and the special effects are good enough to keep you interested.

I thought i knew where the movie was going, until it caught up to that point and what i thought was going to happen didnt, it was messed up i still am not quite sure i understand all of it, ahh well. It kept my attention through the whole thing and i only checked my watch once which is pretty good for a new movie.

The theater was packed though so we had to sit up real close, that was interesting kinda like being attacked by a giant Tom Cruise.

Well anyway go see this movie if your bored i dont think you will regret it. Just dont think about killing anyone hehe.

I usually hate Tom Cruise's acting, but this looks intriguing enough to see, definitely.

At the risk of sounding like an itiot, I don't think I will see this movie for the sake of sending less money to the scientologists. I can't bear to pay them a penny

Thumbs up

First off, good film... I don't usually dig Tom Cruise but in this he was well cast, not too sure who else could've played the character of John Anderton. All in all there wasn't really a crappy cast member(!?)

The premise of the story blew me away {thank sci-fi guru P.K. Dick} and the futuristic gagetry was simply breath-taking... all those iris scanners in shops and VR home computers were cool.

My one complaint is that of the director, Spielberg... this guy churns out 'Hollywood happy' films all the time and unfortunately this is one of em... slightly predictable at times, obligatory car chase scene to showoff some blue-screen action sequences *yawn*. This is the kinda film that would've benefitted from a less commercial orientated director, to highlight the films dark overtones - if Fincher had've taken over directorial duties then this coulda been m-e-g-a!

Anyway on it's merits (technology, sfx, story) this garners a solid 8/10 (altho I'm into my sci-fi)

one big funking gaping hole in the plot.

the murder he was involved with was forseen as a premeditated murder, but it wasn't. not even close. that bothers me alot.

I liked the movie a lot. My only beef with it was simply that I found the ending needlessly explainatory. The movie could have ended about 5 minutes sooner with no ill effect.
