Hey, you guys;
I've been thinking about the different Anti-MJ ads over the years, and I really only remember 1 that I thought was good.
I believe it was from the 80's, and it was more for parents.
Basically, it shows this real clean-cut kid skateboarding through what looks like suburban neighborhood, or Middle America somewhere.
Anyhow, the kid's skateboarding, and the narrator says something like "Statistics show that 55% of kids who smoke marijuana are from the inner-city or slums." Then it shows the kid going behind a building and sitting down with another clean-cut skateboarder, then the announcer says "Guess who the other 45% are," and the kid passes a joint to the other kid.
I thought that was a very effective ad, and also helped to expose a lot of myths about MJ, like only people in the slums and bad areas smoke it. I liked it because it never outright lied, like other ads, and it never really says that MJ is bad, just that parents should be watching their kids if they're concerned.
Anyhow, that was the only ad I ever found non-offensive. Anyone else remember that ad?!

I wouldn't have been any older than 10 probably during that time... so unfortunatly i didn't really pay attention to MJ related back then... which was actually good, there was no need to!

the one that sticks in my memory is one they are still showing. it has a teenager with his younger brother. they go to the park and the older one is playing basketball. well, the teenager's friends show up, bust out a joint, and the announcer asks "think smoking marijuana will make you cool?" or something like that. then it shows the teenager taking the weed and then shows the little brother standing behind a tree watching. the announcer says, "what about the one's who already think you are?" teenager realizes what he is doing in front of little brother, looks ashamed. very effective. has helped me decide i won't smoke out my little bro until he is 16.

The best one I ever saw is where they show this like Home Shopping Channel thing, and these really stoned guy call up and order a bunch of ceramic clowns or something. I laughed my ass off.

I thought the newest one about marijuana supporting terrorists. was good for America's local Illegal growers. If we could legally grow our own supply then America wouldnt have to worry about our habits supporting other countries.

I agree with greypoe. Everyday in first period we had to watch channel one and everyday that same fuggin commercail would come on and i though it was just the stupidest thing i have ever heard. And to get to the point greypoe was saying. if we were legally allowed to grow our marijuana then we wouldn't have to buy from foreign countries. And another thing, i don't even believe i support terrorists when i buy pot. sure i may be supporting some poor mexican but terrorist? not hardly

The little ads where its like "your friends are out here, having fun. You're inside, grounded, because you smoked weed and your parents found out. Lose your parents trust and you can lose your freedom." No lies, no misinformation, I think that would be my biggest deterent for sm0king! Wait to go partnership for a drug free america, yeah woohoo!
