I was watching this movie today when i was high and it was great. I recomend every guy watch this when your ripped.

I dunno I saw it streight and it was kind of a disappointment. I kinda saw it before I started smoking but I should take another look at it. I agree with baily, the books are useually much better than the movies. I will go see it high though.

I wouldn't say that either a book or a film was better - to quote something Stephen King said on the featurette for "Stand By Me" (good film btw, an adaption of his novella "The Body") - he said something along the lines of books and films are like apples and oranges, both are good they just both taste very different.

Admittedly I've not read the Heinlein book, but again to compare them just seems daft.

Anyway I agree w/ya jaydawg, Troopers is cool stoned - just a great satirical cheesiness to it - love Verhoeven's futuristic advertisements too, they're ace! And remember...

i think the movie is pretty good... havent read the book, but the movie is pretty well done IMHO. its one of the few movies that i can watch more than once, and i highly ( )reccomend it

To me that movie was terrible. Remember how little money it pulled in. Thats because it sucked and no one went to see it.

I agree with Flashbax...books and movies are very different and appeal to different senses. With books, all the imagery is generated by your mind, whereas a move may not neccessarily fit into your perception of what you thought something looked like...am I still making sense? (Don't mind me I'm a wee bit blazed)

Anyway, I personally LOVE the movie. i thought it was very well done. It's cheesy futuristic sci-fi kitsch, but the point people miss is that that is exactly what it's SUPPOSED to be. On that level it definitely delivers.
