| I am watching this special now, and I must say this show is one of the most informative and unbiased looks on the drug war that I've seen. They are paralleling illegal drugs with alcohol and tobacco, and it looks like Stossel is just about to rip into the drug czar. Not only are they making an intelligent point that mainstream america can understand...they are still holding by the fact that drugs are bad so the viewing audience doesn't just think it's a bunch of nonsense. Cheers go out to ABC on this one. Edit: Now is it just me or did the drug dealers in prison, and the "potheads" seem more intelligent than Asa Hutchinson, the drug czar? I hate America. | |

| i think ABC and John Stossel did a great job. Mad props. I think he did a fair unbiassed report that relied only on the facts. I liked when John didn't take the usual spoon fed bullshat that most americans accept when he was talking with the head of the DEA. I wish more reporters were like john stossel | |

| New Member | I thought ABC and Jon Stossel did a very good job on that show. The only thing i didnt like to see and im sure most of you feel the same way was the Heroin Addict in that church. I think that picture will stick in most peoples head when they think of the War on Drugs. But for the most part it was a very positive show for our purpose. IMHO, TTown

| Banned | I just got done watching the one hour special, and I loved it. The fact that something like this special can make it on to mainstream tv means that this country will rapidly start to change the ways we think of marijuana. What is going on in nevada is also a great example of how things are changing. If the law passes in their local election, and then passes the major election in 2004, this country will surely start to prevail as a free country. |

| New Member | That was awesome. I hope they show it again and again. Every politician needs a copy of that show. I don't know that I agree with the legalize all drugs message it seemed to put out, but it was probably the most informative, best presentation I've ever seen on mainstream media on the folly of our drug war and the alternatives that seem to be working in other parts of the world |

| New Member | I think this was an extremely good program. John Stossel did an excellent job of unbiased reporting. Asa Hutchinson's limited tv time showed just how ignorant some people can be as to solutions for our supposed drug problem. If we can't convince them to see our way, let's use military tactics! (if that is just not ignorant...) Jailing people for using drugs is ridiculous. That's another ingenious solution to the problem, we'll lock em up; who wants to care about another human anyways? They're worthless to society. What productive activity will a drug user ever do? On that note, let's limit what they can do once they are released from prison. I think the solution to drug addiction is a complicated one. The current solution is not working. So why is the government compelled to keep ruining lives, creating risk for others, and basically promoting a form of prejudice? I can think of one reason. It may or may not be considered "far out". The current government is set on controlling people's lifestyles. People need to take back the government, or we're all in jeopardy. |

| Jr. Member | I think it would be a very good idea to send ABC letters/emails or whatever expressing our support for such reporting. We need to start showing mainstream media that commentary on the drug war is necessary. They need to come to understand that it is a way to attract viewers. The pieces on Columbia were very well done. I think their comparison to the Vietnam War was extremely effective. It made me sit up and think and I really think this is going to be a method used to reach mainstream America. I took a stroll over to the ABC website and found that there is a message board for people to post comments about the special report. here Here is a link to their online email form for John Stossel if you wanted to send them comments that way. here
