Fear and Loathing

Am I the only person on this site who thinks Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas sux balls. Now I'm a big fan of Terry Gillam and I loved the book (which the movie follows very closey), but every time I hear Johny Depp and Bencio Del Toro speak I just want to smack the piss out of them. They toatally ruined this flick for me in which might have been an otherwise alright movie. Do yourself a favor read the book. Hunter S. Thompsen rules! Hollar back

I think that the movie is pretty cool. Not one of my favorites but it is one that I would watch on occasion. I didn't even know there was a book. WHat exactly goes on in the movie? What exactly is the reason for them even going to Vegas?

I agree that the way they talk is a little annoying, but if you've ever heard the real Hunter S Thompson speak, you'll realize depp did a fantastic job.

I love the movie, b/c, as you pointed out, it follows the book pretty loyally.

but its confusing, if you read the book first, the movie is much better, but the book is still awesome.

the reason for them going back to vegas is because it was origianlly 2 stories, but thompson put them together because its 2 short stories, or 1 regualr sized book.
