I was watching The Amanda Show on nickelodeon the other day with my little sisters, and i havent watched those shows in a while...but the things they are teaching these kids...damn. Hopefully this thread wont get closed cuz im not specifically mentioning an off-topic substance, but there was this one part in the show....Some guy was trying to fly a plane and he was acting kinda drunk, and he said something like "i musta took a little too much cough medicine this morning" and someone else goes "cough medicine???" He goes "yeah, that stuff really knocks you loopy......"

I dunno, that just was kinda shocking that they said that on a kids show when theres all kinds of abuse of that **** going on. It just made me think...i dont usually watch that stuff very often, but I wonder what else they are teaching to little kids. Maybe its just me...but think about it, what about the 12 or 13 year olds who watch that show....is that really a good idea to put in their heads? Who knows...maybe the drug addicts will start younger and younger....im probably just rambling but oh well...it was just something that sorta jumped out at me.

what are you talking about? that's just alcohol. atleast they weren't talking about "DRUGS". hahaha. i know what you mean dude. since society indulges in it they decide to cover their own asses by justifying alcohol as a normal safe thing. like alcohol can do permanent brain damage, and make holes in your brain. yet i've only heard that once, yet atleast once a week i hear that "pot" makes you stupid, yet all it does is reduce short term memory for a MAXIMUM of 5 days. i wonder why this is? maybe it's that marijuana is different, so it's able to be misunderstood. and when it's viewed as a taboo thing, they can take the propaganda as far as they want cause if you stand up to them, you're automatically labeled. it's bad how it works that way. each generation is pushed towards alcohol. whether it's rappers on tv, or drinking wine at church, again and again it's portrayed as a fun time. and is often portrayed with success. it's very sad that the world works this way. it's messed up because when we want legalization they sometimes say, oh, it's just because youre a drug addict, and want your "fix". they want alcohol for the same reasons as us, to use it responsibly, and recreationally. but their far too blinded by their own self righteousness to see this. they'll go on saying how prohibition failed because they couldn't stop the flow of alcohol. but on the topic of marijuana, they act like it's some crusade against it, that if stopped, the world will end. i've talked about this far too long.

Dxm IS a drug, a very dangerous one. They weren't talking about alcohol, they were talking about cough syrup. But yeah, I know what you mean, alcohol is really overly glamorized on tv. And marijuana is portrayed as some horrible drug....like on seventh heaven...but thats just a corny after school special. When they find out someone's a POT SMOKER, everyone acts all shocked like they're a crack addict who needs rehab or something. It's just a f*cked up hypocritical society.

oh, and one other time a girl had the munchies and didn't look over college applications, so he's like, she was too stoned to do anything, and i was like, no, she was taking a friggin munchies break.

yeah i remember that, shes like "oh i cant read them now, im too out of it...." and they made a big dramatic thing out of it, with dramatic music and ****. oh yeah and that time that girl drank ONE beer and like forgot about the 2 babies she was watching or something......god, that show is so corny and un-realistic. i wanna go walk around the mall with a pot leaf shirt and see how many dirty looks i get.......hahaha nobody pisses me off more than people who are all ignorant about weed and group it in with other "actual drugs" i think my chemistry teachers like that this year, someone asked what some pipete thing was and shes like "its not a bong!!! im totally against drugs and blah blah blah so ur gonna hear alot about that this year" great...i cant stand people who r like that about weed. like my counselor i went to for like a month when my parents thought i had problems. shes like marijuana is very dangerous, it can be very addicting, it hurts ur brain, blah blah blah.....and i just sat there clenching my teeth, cuz it was impossible to reason with her. and my ****ing parents were too hypocritical at the time to say anything (they're potheads too) so thjey just sat there like dickwads and agreed with her. That stupid ignorant ****, i wanted to kill her....i think im just rambling now, but oh well im drunk. i wish i had weed god damnit.....gotta get some money, now that school started and all the dealers are available i have no money. life just sucks, doesnt it? lol. anyway im gonna go now cuz im done rambling and i always make an ass outta myself when i ramble on and on, so goodbye.

I love watching The Amanda Show with my little sister because of little jokes like that one, which she obviously wouldn't understand yet.

Actually, they were talking about alcohol. Coughsyrup does contain alcohol, even the little rascals had an old lady drinking cough syrup. Alcohol is in coughsyrup.

The two seventh heaven episodes related to pot... I had to watch those. Those are the only two episodes I've ever seen.


They will forever be remembered as the greatest anti-drug parody in history.

Seeing the reverand SCREAMING at his wife because he just found out that twenty+ years ago in college she smoked pot.

I remember that seventh heaven episode....funny **** I watch that show just because its so completely ridiculous and stupid that its funny. The other day one of the kids had a condom in his wallet, so the entire family drove to his girfriend's house to try to spy on him...and ended up chasing after each other. The father was like "Where would u get a condom in the first place!?"

And i know cough syrups have some alcohol, but the amount of DXM is probably more than the alcohol......but i could be wrong, it depends what kind.

kids dont pay attention to that stuff gimme a break...its not like a kid has a serious enuf mind to pay attention to stuff like that...its like when bugs bunny cross dressed ...r u gunna blame bugs bunny's crossdressing for all the crossdressers out their? their not teaching anyone anything its just tv... i don't think the tv show puff the magic dragon was the reason i began to smoke pot (know this 4 sure cuase i know why i started)...

yeah like your little sister is thinkin hmmm i shud try sum of that cough surup and try to get ****ed up lol...that kind of information is information saught out not something you discover by accident...i can confindently say that not a single person in this entire universe will ever try cough surup as a recreational experiment drug becuase of the tv show you are talking about...and if it did all that means is that instead of that person finding out cough syrup can **** you up from a cartoon they would have happened upon it elsewhere...i meen come ****ing on how many people out their are looking for odd ways to get ****ed up that haven't allready tried booze weed and other things...

its people who complain about violence in cartoons like daffy duck getting shot with a shotgun and blame that for school shootings who invent ABSOLUTELY ABSURD shows like that one cartoon with those 4 teletubby freaks of nature that don't even ****ing speak english!@#@! teletubbies should be shot and killed...

yeah exactly what captian honkey said...they don't understand **** like that at that age...their not teaching anyone anything its just entertainment...i never watched crap like seseme street and **** when i was a kid i never wanted to learn as a kid nor was i tricked into learning by a semi-entertaining slash semi-educational program i liked my entertainment pure and uncut...hehe
