| I just saw this movie while I was really baked.......F'ing amazing! Does anyone wanna give a little insight into what exactly the story was meant to say? I kind of got a little hint of Religion in it, almost like Donnie was jesus dieing to save lives and that motivational speaker was the anti-christ. I dunno tho, I could just be totally tripped out by the movie. That goddam bunny scared the sh*t outa me. | |

| Donnie is a boy who has had "mental problems" all his life, involving sleepwalking and general wierdness. One night he sleepwalks and an engine from a jet plane crashes into his bedroom. He was sleeping safely on the golf course. This is when Frank the talking Pyschedelic Rabbit shows up and starts talking to him. Donnie really seems to be going psychotic himself until it seems he has a destiny or a mission. Turns out nobody can trace that jet engine - no plane logs one as missing. I was stunned at how good this movie is and it is highly recommended. get baked and watch it again!

| It's been awhile since I have seen the film. I remember talking about it for days afterwards. I was really blown away. it's involved, detailed and well done. I think it has something to do with god and time travel and being in 2 places at once... but I could be old and daft. No warranty expressed or implied. MOST movies these days are not worth the effort one puts into reading the box at the video store. Donnie is a film so good it bolsters my snotty attitude. The Matrix is my favorite a real masterpiece. I greatly disliked "The 6th Sense". I thought it was poorly done, I figured it out from the get go. (Im the only person in america I think who disliked it.) "Stir of Echos" was similar but vastly better. A real thinking persons scary movie. Was even better the second time around. |

| I haven't seen Donnie Darko yet but I really want to. As for 6th sense it blew in my opinion as well. Just not a very good film. I have yet to see stir of echoes though...

| Donnie Darko is my favorite movie, period. The soundtrack is awesome, the acting is great, and probably the most original story i've heard in a while. On the directors commentary on the dvd he said that donnie is supposed to be a pseudo superhero, his job is to get certain things done by 28 days and Frank the rabbit is there to guide him along. For example, if he hadn't burnt down that dude jim's house, then that crazy teacher would have gone with the girls on their trip, not his mother who is supposed to be on that plane. It's very good, the trailers make it look cheesy, but it's a masterpeice. |

| Ok, there's alreayd been spoilers, but I'll put it like this again just in case someone managed to miss the first ones. SPoilers now, while I loved the movie, I was highly dissappointed by the ending. What I think could have been a moving film about a poor boy succumbing to schizophrenia, they have to ruin it by making the movie super-natural in nature. Now, mind you, I'm the only one who seems to think this so I have no problem with how they ended it, because apparently that's what most people enjoyed.
