Hey LouReedNYC, I agree Reality tv is ruining everything! MTV is useless. MTV2 is ok, but overall I'm sick of MTV brainwashing everyone into thinking what's cool and what's not. Radio's getting bad too. It's getting tough to hear really find good quality new music. That's why I'm so into classic rock.

I agree, radio has gotten a lot worse. Lucky for me, we have a community radio station (probably just about ever town does, I don't know) that plays really good music. Music of all sorts that you would never hear on commercial radio. They even have 2 hours straight of Grateful Dead (no commericials on community radio ) on saturday night.


I also agree that it's getting tough to find quality, new music. It's a shame, it really is. Record companies sign artists just to make as much money as possible by selling records to the masses. They don't care how cheesy and unorginal the song is, they just want to sell it They also don't give the artists enough freedom to do what they want.

Soybomb, that is incredible that your local station plays two hours of the dead. In NYC we have nothing even similar to that. I havent touched the radio in years, I gave up hope a long time ago. People have told me that I am not openminded, and I always stick to classic rock, jazz and phish. But, I tried to watch MTV, and listen to pop music. It was ****ing awful.

Other than those 2 shows i dont watch it. They only show videos all day long, sometimes they show stuff from the american mtv like cribs(does anyone watch this crap?). But our version of TRL is just like there, people call vote and its usually crap...

Now the artists they dont have to make good music all they need is a image, something they call sell. I cant say i dont watch some videos, i mean that Dirrrty video is pretty cool if you take the sound off.

I watch the Osbournes, and occasionally sit through some crap to see a good video. But that's about it. MTV definitely does not deserve to be called "music television" It's ridiculous, nothing but ****ty shows like real world and cribs, and teenage girls screaming in between 20 second video clips.

MTV should focus on more important things like "What celebrities think of war in the Middle East" or "How celebrities can make us feel good about who we are", or maybe they should JUST SHOW SOME FREAKIN' MUSIC VIDEOS!!! LoL

Yeah, good music videos too. When they actually play videos (late at night and into the early morning) they are like the same 10 videos over and over. The only video I like that they are playing these days is the Queens of the Stone Age.
