I was watching COPS a few nights ago, one in Florida, one in Oregon, and an hour long one in London, England.

Wow.

Let's just say that from what I saw, you guys in the UK really have your **** together.

The Oregon one wasn't too bad, a bunch of domestic disturbance calls, the cops were pretty cool. Florida, now that was entrapment city... I have never seem so many young black men get arrested by so many cops. All three segments were undercover stings, all for small amounts of drugs. The force used by the police was astounding, and in all busts, guns were drawn and pointed at the suspect.

The UK episode was one helluva constrast. I am aware that this is just tv, but the non-violent methods they used were great. Instead of pulling guns, they relied on riot shields, and other non-violent take-down procedures. In all of the segments, the people they arrested sat down in the cruiser themselves, with no handcuffs being used!!!

One bust was for marijuana, and they let the kid go, told him to go home.

Seeing these episodes back to back was quite an experience, really showed the difference between a country with a violent war on drugs and one without. The fact that there gun control policies are polar opposites really showed as well.

COPS: the only reason I watch it is to reassure myself that I'm much better off in Canada....

That reminds me, I was watching COPS about a week ago, where they busted some guy in a liquor store about a block down from my apartment....and what's worse, I knew the cashier.

Yeah i think the cops over here in the UK save up all the violence and only use it to beat up people who are gay or black, theres a lot of racism and homophobia supposedly.
Last time i spoke to a policeman was when one came over to my freinds house to ask about someone who had gone missing, there was a bong on the table in front of him and i was wearing a t-shirt with DOPE written on it, and he didnt even say anything, lol

yeah man, cops is awesome.

im watchin it right now and the camera is in a car of an officer showing up to an in-progress. and the guy and this guy was sellin an (off topic rock) and ran, and hit a cops car.

its kinda scary this type of stuff ud see on movies...but this is real somewhere.

Watching it on tv is one thing, but seeing something right in front of you is, not good but slighty entertaining.

Right behind my house, this girl was learning how to ride a bike. She started off good but shot straight down this hill into a sharp metal fence. Thats something cops will never have.

PS, the girl was alright after a few stitches.
