A buddy of mine at work was telling me about this movie Battle Royale. Its a Japanese horro suspense movie.check it out
Hes letting me barrow it this weekend. has anyone else seen or heard of it?

yep.

It's about a bunch of japanese 9th graders killing each other. VERY bloody, but its funny.

I wonder how japan gets away with making these movies...

You can work wonders when you don't have the "moral majority" breathing down your neck. Blame it on your culture. It's alright to actually commit the violence, but to show it on tv or film, what the hell are you trying to do, corrupt the children?!?!

IMHO Battle Royale is one of the most amazing movies ever created. That new Quintin Tarintino movie "Kill Bill" is inspired by battle royale...I just hope it doesnt pull the mainstream audience into the japanese shock type of cinema.

If anyone is planning to check it out be sure to get the 114 minute uncut version (region 0 for dvd).. the ending is alot more satisfying than the chopped version (the new region 1 you can find in most stores is cut).
