Well, this movie was alright...pretty inaccurate, but that's Hollywood for you. Anyhow, did you guys catch the scene towards the end where Jack the Ripper cuts out that whore's heart and puts it in a kettle over the fire, and it explodes?! SICK!!!!!!!
Also, I was intrigued by the scene where Johnny Depp drinks absinthe and begins hallucinating...I don't think I EVER recall seeing an absinthe scene in any other movie before. What WAS absinthe, anyhow? Wormwood and grain alcohol, wasn't it?! I do know Van Gogh and other artsy-fartsy types would drink it for inspiration.
Anyways, strange flick.

From Hell is an awesome movie, along with Sleepy Hollow. Even though they were made by different people. Along with a bunch of his other movies, it puts Johnny Depp in my top 10 list for actors and actresses.

I found something lacking in 'from hell.' I can't realy put my finger on it, but there is something off. Perhaps the movie should have been shot darker. The era London had some potential for some truely awfull urban decay. The film seemed to visualy gloss over the problems with a growing city at a time before proper urban planning or social systems. I don't know, I like it, but it is on my list of movies that just are not right.
