Default X-MEN 2!(and some spoilers)

C'mon, no thread about X-men 2 yet? That movie kicked so much ass! Kicked the original's ass all over the place, a fantastic way to start off summer movies...and The Matrix Reloaded is coming out in less then two weeks! Anyone else see it?

Spoilers below....

OK, anyone know what was up with the reflection/glow in the lake at the end? An allusion to Jean Grey coming back?

And in the tent, why didn't Wolverine smell Mystique? He did in the first movie. And why did she have scars? Couldn't she just shapeshift them out?

And my favorite scenes had to be Magneto's escape from prison and Wolverine and Deathstryke's fight. Getting filled with moten metal...that's a new one.
Finding more about Wolverine's past and the program that gave him skeleton and claws kicked butt. Can't wait for X3.

Yeah, I would say that was foreshadowing to Jean coming back as the Phoenix in X3.

I really liked X2. I agree that it was much better than the original. There was a lot more violence and use of mutant powers than in the first one. Magneto pulling the pins out of the soldiers' grenades....genius

edit: Did anyone notice that in the bar right before mystique seduces the guard, Beast is on television giving an interview

Great movie, way better than the first. I went to go see it with some friends last Saturday.

I wish I knew more about the comic book series so I could catch some of the hidden things in there...

The problem I had with X1 was how it started out with an adult twist and then went downhill into a more child orientated movie.

Does it happen again?

I saw X2 also, but I can't remember much becuase I was blazed out of my mind. What I do remember was awesome. When Pyro took the flame from the lighter into his hand- that was sweet. And he had a sweet lighter too.

Nope...I wouldn't take kids to see this movie at all. It's dark, violent(for a PG-13 movie), and it stays that way. There are more surprises, more cool touches, more humor...it's awesome.

smoked before i saw it, smoked while i saw it (yes in the theaters), and smoked after I saw it. i dont really remember it

though i remember myself liking it better than the first one, actually, i didnt like X1 at all. and for the Matrix. i doubt i'll see it just yet, i'll wait till its out on hbo. i didnt like the first Matrix.

for you who wonder why i got to smoke inside, no one was in the theater at 1PM, and most of my friends work at the theater, so it was all good.

later

From a non-fan perspective, it was pretty good, better than the first. I'm starting to understand the whole concept better now, and it almost makes me wanna read the comics. I thought the movie's opening - Night Crawler's entrance - was one of the most impressive i've ever seen, I think he's a really good character as well. It's probably my favourite comic book based movie. Still, i'm looking forward to The Matrix movies more than I did this movie. Return Of The King is most defintely at the top of my anticipation list, by far.
