Has any one noticed there are anti-mj commercials and anti-cig commercials targetted to youth, but no commercials to try and stop kids from drinking? Have I missed them? it's probably the most dangerous too.

Good point. I haven't seen none. As far as I know from the media, if I smoke weed I'll shoot my friends, run over people in the drive through, support terrorists (only a little bit) and get pregnent. If I drink, there's a never ending party, I become more popular, I get to hang out with KidRock, and I'll ALWAYS get ALL the women. Huh...

What, the media is irrational? That's a suprise!

Wait a second...no it's not. The media simply plays on the general population's fears, and generally represents their views. Due to reefer madness, middle America is deathly afraid of the demon weed. Due to highly publicized tobacco trials, middle America is deathly afraid of tobacco. It's no suprise that the media reflects this: it gets them higher ratings if the ideas they present are in line with the ideas held by most people.

On the other hand, the vast majority of Americans drink. Never mind that it causes more problems than weed and tobacco combined, it's socially acceptable. Therefor, it would not be in the media's interest to come out against something that most people enjoy.

Very, very true WNB. It's really sad though, huh, what alcohol can do to a person's life, either directly or indirectly. It has had a negitive effect on everone I know. We can just get high, and let it be though, and we are breaking the law. Sad...

Yeah its really stupid too since you are more likely to do all those things in the anit mj commercials while drunk. It may not be a statistic but its pretty damn obvious.

The only PSA's that I've seen that were even remotely anti alcohol were some anti-drunk driving commercials a few years back, made by MADD I believe.

I remember something about the beer lobby fighting to make sure that beer was not in the government's list of drugs to campain against, like cigs and herb.
