| Ok, i know there was topics on this in the old forums, but i did a search here and nothing came up. I simply loved this movie when i saw it, and after searching the old forums, found the explination (http://www.tonystuff.co.uk/darko-spoilers.htm do NOT go there unless you've seen the movie) bought the dvd, saw the extended scenes, found my way through the website, and even bought the book(which is just basically the script, plus the philosophy of time travel book and interviews with the writer/director and jake gyllenhaal. ***Spoiler questions*** . . . . . . . . . I came to my own conclusions about most things, but one thing that still bothers me is what happens to Gretchen in the real universe...on the site it said that Donnie realized he had to close the tangent because everyone he loved would die, and that when closing it that "Everything would be alright", but wouldn't gretchen's mother(the reason she comes to the party all upset the final night of the movie) still happen in the real universe? Wouldn't gretchen be still in trouble, regarless of him saving her in the tangent? Also which may be related, in 1999 Kenneth Monnitoff(the teacher played by Noah wyle) was killed, and his wife(drew barrymore) sent the philosophy of time travel book to someone named Elizibeth Hartford, since obviously he never gave it to Donnie. I have no idea who this person is, or if it could be Gretchen, since that wasn't her real name anyway... Course maybe i'm just trying to anazlize it too much... ![]()

| Dude, that isn't anywhere close to what I think happened. I mean, I haven't read "The Philosophy of Time Travel", but that movie his highly conjecturable (if that isn't a word it is now), so anybody could see it as anything. I mean, I don't think it has anything to do with tangent universes. But again, these are MY opinions. PS they may be wrong, though as I have seen that movie 3 times, and none of those times was I sober.

| i just saw this movie and its really awesome, i had to watch it twice to totally get it all and i think its great because there are so many things you notice people say through the movie that you wouldn't notice unless you watched it twice to the mighty quinn: they make reference to tangent universes within the movie, i think there's only one real explanation for the whole thing that explains everything in the movie

| what i always thought about his movie is if he dies at the end wouldnt taht version of time not have him there to fix things so maybe the next time he would not die and then the time after taht we would and it would just a constant circle of time

| I loved this movie, it immediately made into one of my all time favourites. I think its really hard to come to any conclusions about what happened because everything was so supernatural. It is really open to any interpretation. What I was hoping is that we'd get to hear the old lady talk. I has a feeling that he was going to meet up with her and she was going to make sense out of everything for him. Crazy old lady.

| Great movie. Gets the stoned thinking going without being stoned. Anyways didnt the director in the extended sceens say that when Frank honked the horn it ment that Donnie had to get out because he fixed it but Donnie thought it was all a dream? If you understood this movie first try then you either cheated or are lying. |
