Care to put up the cash?

It's fairly pricey to raise the money for that kind of advertising, particularly when it matters; during election campaigns. Quite a few organizations use print/radio ads, there was quite the controversy over subway station ads in an American city. Forget which one though.

PoTV in Canada is a web-based television station that advocates legalization. If I recall correctly, some of their programs have made it onto regular tv, but only in Canada.

that and most major tv stations probably won't run them anyway, because they run the risk of losing the funding from the government ads, which probably pay alot more, i remember reading about a station denying a MPP medical marijuana ad.

Not really, no, they technically are not allowed to discriminate like this. The FCC demands that broadcast networks and radio stations give equal coverage to all sides of any issue they present. Of course, they get around this by saying that they aren't presenting it, their advertisers are. Nevermind that it's on their airtime, being broadcast on their channel, to their listeners. Seems kind of shady, but no one has challenged it yet.
