Default 1978 lord of the rings

Man have you guys seen the 1978 animated version of the fellowship of the ring?

ITs freakin sweet! Its got live actors (of the bad guys) imposed on a pen and paper world of middleearth.

The animation on some points was really good, and i was so convinced it was animated that I had to find the movies website to find out there were actors.

Man you ened to see it!

“Lord of the rings”
I here so much about this movie but never seen it. What is it about?
I went to Amazon in the direction of buying the movie but they had so many editions to choose from I did not know which one was the original. If the movie is a 5 star movie I’ll buy LOTR 123 or however many they have but if the movie isn’t all that great, or just so so I am only going to buy the first edition just to say I saw this all so famous “Lord Of The Rings”

You don't know what lord of the rings is about? It is arguably one of the best fantasy books ever written. And the movie trilogy(not talking about the cartoon) is our generations star wars.

Now to ur question about the versions the only different versions i know of is the normal versios and the extended version.(widescreen and full screen) they also have bundles of the first n second movie and even now all 3.

They are 5 star movies from most reviews, winning 4 acadamy awards for the first, 1 for the second and a wopping 11 for the third.

Reading ur post again i'm wondering if you think the 3 movies are different versions. It is a trilogy, Fellowship of the rings being the first, the two towers being the seconds and return of the king being the 3rd.

If u do watch them i'd recommend the extended editions, since they have more movie, alot of good stuff that they kept out of the theatrical releases and makes the movie so much better for those of us who have read the books, and i'm sure will be good for everyone else too.

The return of the king hasn't gotten an extended release yet, but if the previous 2 movies are any guide they will come out with one in a few months, so you could always rent the last one if u liked the first two before getting an extended release.

Anyway this isn't a movie, this is an epic. You're looking at 10 and a half hours with the extended edition(keeping in mind that return of the king isn't extended, and is rumored to have 1 hour of extra footage, double what we got in the first 2) or 9 and a half with the normal versions.

Anyway if you couldn't tell im a little high, so i'll end this now before it crosses the line from advice into fanatical, if it hadn't already.

I've seen the animated version of the Hobbit. LOL I laughed my ass off at all the musical parts. I really enjoyed reading the Hobbit much more than TFOTR. I got halfway through Two Towers and had to stop...I'm a sci-fi/fantasy reader, and for me Tolkien's style was much to wordy, lengthy, and drawn out. If I had to read another, "Gilrond, son of Molboart, cousin of Tawdale, begotten from the far distant lands of Gortheth.." I mean come on, how can I remember all that crap! And what is imporant and what isn't??

The movies did an excellent job IMO at cutting out the crap and just giving the audiance the important storyline details and all the action. I remember when I was trying to read the trillogy about 8 years ago how desperate I was for the battles to begin, and when they did--they were only a couple pages long!

The Hobbit is written entireley diffrent...

On an unrelated note I have seen the animated hobbitt and it is amazing! The animation is TERRIBLE! You have never seen animation this ****ty. IT makes ziggy look like van gogh! But its still so good cause its all just wierd

you really gotta see that one to see what i mean
its good though

I was watching the academy awards when they announced loads of the rings with the 11 awards I was like OMG how could a movie possibly be that good. They had won everything from best screenplay, best story line, and best movie best set best everything. They have so many editions it is hard to tell what one is which. They had lord of the rings the fellowship, lord of the rings the two towers. Lord of the rings Trilogy, loard of the rings return of the kings. Daymn lol they fail to mention which one to watch first

I am getting addicted to this Amazon dot com. people up in this lounge keep recommending good movies&games and I cannot help but buy them lol

At first, I was only going to buy the first edition but everybody keeps saying “you never seen LOTR” and keeps saying how great the movies were so I am just going to buy the whole series

I'm waiting untill they put all three extended versions together in a set before I buy any of the movies. My friend has all 3 in non-extended, and the first two in extended...I think it's kind of a waste to have to buy them all over again once the extended version comes out.
