Smile Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Is anyone else as excited as i am for the release of charlie and the chocolate factory? im pretty sure it comes out july 15th, but at some theatre near me there having a pre-screening like they normally do for big movies, so hopefully ill be able to catch that one ive read a few articles about the movie, and some loved it, and others couldnt get used to depp playing wonka, versus gene wilder in the 1971 original. the new movie however, is based on the book by roald dahl. which is different, but still similar to the original movie. im looking forward to the eye-candy, so ill most likley then go see it.

any other fans out there...

I've seen the previews, and Johnny Depp just looks gay in that movie. I guess he does in alot of movies though so whatever

Molesting children is NOT cool, neither is Johnny Depp trying to emulate Michael Jackson in his role as Willy Wonka. But what the **** do I know I haven't even seen the thing. It could be way cool. Dahl is one of my all time fav's.

Default All depends on Depp...

Gotta say, Johnny Depp looks pretty creepy in the movie, but its gonna be great, cause hes one of my favorite actors. He is gonna make this movie either really really bad, or really really good, oh and im pissed about the oompa loompas too, those little orange f***ers were the coolest...

Think one of the oompa loompas is gonna hang themself in this one???

the previews make me think that they totally butchered the book and the original movie and I am not looking forward to it at all. Rhoald Dahl does kick ass though.

Hell yeah I'm looking forward to it and also plan to and then go see it. Loved the original, one of my all-time favorites. I doubt this will be as good but you never know, and will still probably be a pretty cool movie to watch. But I don't think anybody will ever give off the same creepy but nice guy vibe Gene Wilder had in the original.

I think Johnny Depp looks weird. I honestly don't think this movie will live up to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, nor will Johnny Depp live up to Gene Wilder. But, don't get me wrong, I love Johnny Depp. I think he is a good actor. I just think this movie will be a disappointment to me. Maybe not to younger people who may not have seen the original movie.

if you're going to see this movie, you have to go see it while in an optimistic state of mind. you can't constantly compare it to the "original" because its not supposed to be like that. its a different story. ya sure, johnnny depp looks like a homo, but thats what they wanted him to look like. am i the only one who thought gene wilder was kinda queer? the new movie is supposed to tell a different side of the story becuase they show you more aspects of certain charaters then they did in the original. the film shows you wonka's background, and how he became the candy genious that he is/was. all i can say is "before you knock it try it first" (K+ to first person who tells me who quoted this, dont google.)

I'll probably see it, but not until it comes out on DVD.
