| Battlestar Galactica (the new series) was brought over to america from the UK. It achieved great popularity so they began a second season which is on television right now, on the sci-fi channel on fridays prime-time. Everyone in a 1st or 2nd world country can relate the shows classic struggle between Man and Machine. Throughout human history man has tried to tame machine and make it its slave, only to find ourselves out of a jobs and replaced by them. In the 'animatrix' the supplmental animated series to the 'matrix', the 'machines' seperated from society and created their own civlization. The currency out did the human currency and political rage swelled leading to what became the premise for the original movies storyline. The story in Battlestar Galactica is an epic classic. The survival of the human race is on the line, dwindling down to less than 50,000 souls. Through the series the question of wether or not the machines or "cylons" have souls is debateable. There are many story twists that leave you hanging in your seat waiting for the next episode to be played. Action fills the television show, but not so much you feel numb to it. Human emotions are played out by excellent characters and cast. This television show inspires deep thought and is watchable with a slightly geeky girlfriend/boyfriend, with lots of buddies, or by yourself alone in the dark to revel its mysteries and excitement. There is no particular "main character", rather, a few dozen. New characters are explained constantly, and old characters 'grow' emotionally and change drastically, and some dont change at all. Psycgological thrills, epic struggles of desperation, Romance, Desire, ACTION. This television series has it all and is definently "the one to watch". You can download the first series and missed episodes off various "UK bit torrent" websites. /end

| Cool review. I never really gave this show a look beyond the first episode when I saw it.

He is not "with it," that is, he doesn't know "what's happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what is happening, he becomes "groovy." After that, with much luck and perseverance, he can rise to the rank of "cool." | If you,re not a purist of the first version, BG is the best sci-fi series out there. But I don't believe it's a British creation. British movies and TV shows have "trademarks" that stick out like a sore thumb to other audiences, especially Americans. BG has none of these trademarks. And I seem to remember Sci-fi networks saying that BG was produced on Farscape's old soundstage (Sidney). This would make BG an Aussie production, not British. BTW: EP 1 of BG's second season was the number one watched show the night it aired. Sci-fi channel outrating the big networks. hehe, go figure.
