| Yeah, the Wall is some tight shit to watch while you're high/drunk/messed up at all. My bro got it for me for Christmas, and we smoked a few joints while watching it. It is really deep and makes you think, and it has some weird stuff in it. I like all of the animated parts the best.

| The Wall is an amazing movie, there are so many levels to it. On the surface it just looks like one big music video for their album A little bit deeper and you see a story unfold, a story about a Rockstar A bit deeper than that and you can see the critique Pink Floyd does on "civilized" culture Even deeper you see the psycho-social aspects, the relationship between his dad and the Nazi army. And Finally at the deepest level you see the political and social statements they are trying to make. Very good movie, loosely based off of the bands original lead performer/songwriter/Guitarist Syd Barrett. There is a good documentary on the old chap, very entertaining if you are into floyd. |

| Actully, hate to burst your bubble, it is based off of Roger Waters, since he is wrote =the lyrics for the wall.... The only true basis of Syd Barret is the Song Shine on you Crazy Dimond, parts I-IV.... Good movie, and i suggest you guys watch it sober too... Pink Floyd is not just for a bunch of stoners, it is probably the greatest Band ever, from Pipers at the Gates of Dawn, and even the Divison Bell, even though roger left us in the last few albums..... Sorry, but of a huge Pink Floyd fan here.... |

Waters did write the lyrics, and some of it is modeled after his own life (The story with the father) but the other parts were inspired by Syd. Roger discusses Syd's influence on the album and the movie in the Documentary of Syd. Shine on You Crazy Diamond is/are an amazing song/songs. ... You reached for the secret too soon... you cried for the moon... shine on you crazy, you crazy diamond. Also Roger talks about during the recording of "Wish you were here" how Syd after years of no contact waltzes into the recording studio, head completely shaven bald, eyebrow's facial hair, everything. This is obviously reflected in the movie during the transformation scene. Can you imagine how powerful that would be, recording a song (a great song at that) about somebody (particularly that you miss them dearly) and then them showing up unannounced? I feel so badly for Syd, he was a genius, and I love The Pink Floyd's earlier work where Syd is involved. Also, is your avatar a picture of a young Waters? Looks like it to me. Your handle, I am supposing it comes from the PATGOD album now that you have professed your love for the PF. Also, what do you think of Bob Klose? | |

| Ahh Bob Klose, the man with Barret and Waters..... He left to early to make an impact..... But Syd still has amazing solo work, Opel, The Mad Cap Laughs, i mean sure some of the songs you can deffitly hear his degrading mental health, but he still has some great work, like Octopus... But im glad he left the band, without him they had greatnest....with him, i fear they would of been stuck in the psycadelic age and never got off the ground..... I love PATGOD, Lucifer Sam is my favorite...or is it Flaming.....ahh no its chapter 24... Actully i cant decide.... And your right on the Syd part, my over sight.... It makes alot more sense since the whole cartoon playing into it also, depicting his dismise.... How do you like Zabriskie Point? and on that note.... So, how do you like Roger Barrets work ?Forgot to mention. are you as excited as i am about the Pulse DVD!?! |
