For me, the message of the movie is do what you want, no matter what anyone thinks. Everyone in the family had to deal with some kind of obstacle but they ended up doing what they believed in. The film also stressed how divided the family was in the beginning of the movie, but at the end they are as close as ever. Good movie. Great acting. Great soundtrack.

Well... It looks like allot of people have seen it and enjoyed it. I've been wanting to see it, but I havent had time for it yet. Prolly watch it while i'm baked or something.. haha...

It was nominated for Oscars for Best Supporting Actor (Alan Arkin), Best Supporting Actress (Abigail Breslin), Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture.

I actually just watched this movie yesterday and I loved it! I thought the acting was great and it was just a good movie period. Steve Carrell was hilarious and so was Dwayne(the brother who didnt talk) haha. Deffinately a must see.

It's good to see a well made independent comedy hit it big. I don't have much use for most of the stupid, so-called comedies the big studios crank out (Can't help it-I'm too old to be easily amused

).

You're right zigzag. Dwayne the silent brother did a great job without saying a word.

YEah... it was a great movie... The actors was the right choice and it was like eveything just workded perfectly together. I just loved the fact that the cop chose the porn magz instead of arresting them...
