| It's might be illeagal but even if it's not they seem to be really social animals. I think if one were alone it would be miserable. Otherwise they would make an awsome pet. |

| I'm bumping this thread for show discussion. No, you can't have a Meerket as a pet. ![]() Anyone else watch the show? I have been since the beginning. I was really upset that Flower died, and now Mozart died too. ![]() There is a big discussion on the Animal Planet boards, and one of the biggest complaints from people was asking why the researchers didn't intervene in these deaths. They can't. I cried when they died, but I also know it is a part of life. We can observe, but we can't intervene everytime something goes wrong. It is extremely sad, but part of life, unfortunately.

| I think this show is crazy. They make up these elaborate story lines for these animals that just prance around and get food. I laugh whenever i see this show. |

| I've never watched it either, but the commercials do entice my interest. If I ever catch it on when nothing else is playing, I'll be sure to watch it. "I'm bringin sexy baaack"

| Yeah, i like to watch that show. I just dont like to watch the sad parts, there was a part about the little babys getting lost, and the camera men knew where they were, but they wouldnt put them back with their mother. If i was a camera man, i would have put them back, even if you arent supposed to. ![]() |

| They don't make up story lines. They explain what's happening. I've watched the show since it started. They do some prancing around. It's play and learning how to survive. It's what all animals do to some extent, including us. They have no body fat to speak of so they have to forage for food daily. When my wife and I went to the state zoo, we enjoyed watching the Meerkats more than any other animal(s). They socialized just like they do in the wild. There was always a lookout standing on his/her hind legs at a high spot, even though they'd been in the zoo for years and had no enemies. |

| A great show. I watch it whenever I get the chance and is one of the few programs that I really like. Every episode is not only epic, but heartfelt and feels true to the animals - and its parallels with real life. This would be a show I would get on DVD when it finishes up since I miss so many episodes.
