| Anyone get the chance to see it yet? I really don't know what to think of it. I got such a hype going in my head over this sequel that I don't think it could of been as good as I expected. I pretty much think that the first movie was better. There was an obvious difference in the style of the movie compared to the first. I liked how during action parts the camera would shake, it would feel like you were in the movie. The movie was centered around life after the outbreak... Britain still needed to be cleaned up, but "green" zones were set up in London that were free of the virus. Reading about the movie beforehand, it was explained that it was more focused on a family's story, than individual characters meeting up to survive (first movie). I felt that there wasn't enough development into the family, and it just sorta passes by and your left with characters that you don't really feel any emotion for. *SPOILERS* The intro to the movie was the best part. I could feel the husband/father's emotion while looking at his wife and that kid, with a zombie between them. I honestly don't know what I would do in that situation. It gave me chills watching him slam the door and jump out the window. It seems he screwed everyone until the very end of the movie. For the rest of the movie, I felt it took too long for the outbreak to happen again. I felt like half the movie went by before I saw some city-zombie action. The military commander was a little corny, too. And I especially didn't like the whole "someone can have the virus, but not display the effects" idea. It was very obvious from the beginning that her son was going to get infected but not be a zombie. And how did the mother survive to make it back to their house? When one gets the virus, the other zombies stop attacking them, correct? She was carrying the virus, but when she transfered it to her husband, he killed her. I'm not sure if it was from his memory (killing her for giving him the virus), but it led me to believe that he just viewed her as another survivor without the virus. If that's the case, how come she wasn't attacked and mobbed to death to begin with? Apparently there is going to be a third movie, as it shows Paris full of zombies at the end. I really hope its better than 28 weeks later. *END SPOILERS* All in all, I think Romero did a better job showing a country getting back on it's feet after the infection starts with Land of the Dead, even though its effects weren't as top notch as 28 Weeks. I'll probably end up buying the box set for 28 days/weeks if they make it. What did you guys think? |
