Just wait till they start making commercials encouraging kids to turn their parents and sibling in for drug use...
I remember when the DARE officer came to my school....way before my smoking days, but I just remember that he actually brought a joint in and let us look at it. and then we had to watch some gay-ass trippy video. I was like 11, but even so, I could tell that it was an exaggeration.

Are we talking about these ads?:

if so, i find those to be kind of funny. I doubt they were actually drawn by kids though.

But a harmless drug such as marijuana which doesn't form dependency? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO way!
This is exactly why I'm a Libertarian: We, as free citizens, have the right to do what we want with our bodies, provided it doesn't harm other people. It is not the government's job to tell us what we can and cannot do with our bodies, whether it's good for us or not. The government is not our mommy and daddy who have to regulate our diets, what drugs we use and other personal habits. The government needs to stick to regulating taxes, printing money and building the military and stay the fuck out of my/our houses.

Does the Declaration of Independence not list our unalienable rights as "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?" Does that not mean that we are free to live our lives the way we see fit and do what makes us happy? So why then does the government see fit to illegalize things that should be personal choices? Is it because they want to protect us from ourselves? Fuck that, it isn't the government's job to protect us from anyone except criminals and terrorists.

Criminals, that brings me to my next point. If drugs were legalized, there would be far fewer criminals, which in turn would mean that the prisons would be clogged with far fewer innocent people; marijuana would be something that parents talk to their kids about ("Little Johnny, if you decide to try pot when you grow up, there are a few things you need to know about self-reliance and responsibility..."); weed would be taxed, which kind of sucks, but it would help get us out of the hole our economy is in; and it would be regulated by the law, which means that more people would be educated about what is true about weed and what isn't.

As Penn Jilette says, making something illegal is what makes it dangerous. Because weed and other drugs are illegal, those who wish to use and/or sell them are forced to commit a criminal act, and that leads in some cases to deadly underground drug rings. Why not just decide to not use drugs instead, you say? Because I do want to smoke weed, because marijuana is a natural substance that grows on the earth on which we live, because it's my choice, and because I'm not the kind of person who just rolls with the punches and allows the law to get away with anything it wants.

"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security." --Benjamin Franklin

Does ads just aggravate me lol they sometimes make me feel like a crackhead.. But wtf? they should start making commercials on more dangerous drugs.

But if you think about it they might do these commercials because marijuana is the first illegal drug people start doing. So they might be going after the "gateway drug" idea.
