| Just saw the 'early review' of 1408 on the Ebert and Roeper show. It got two thumbs up.

| I do love Stephen King, all of his stuff, and I think John Cusack is hot, and I work as an usher so I get two free movies a week, so that pretty much guarantees that I will be seeing that flick. I think it looks pretty good. ![]() Oh, and I've read Everything's Eventual and liked it (especially the short story "Everything's Eventual") but I'm struggling through The Cell so far..to me, it just seems like a lot of King's stories have gone sort of flat since he stopped doing drugs and drinking. I'm sure some people would disagree with me, but I definitely think the quality of books like Cujo and IT (books he barely remembers writing because he was so messed up) are *much* better than his new books, like From A Buick 8 and Lisey's Story. Don't get me wrong; his new books are good, but his old books were epic on the subconscious level. I mean, I would put a picture of that baby from Pet Sematary next to "horrific" in the dictionary.

| Ehh, John Cusack is alright, and I like alot of Stephen King's work but PG-13 horror movies just don't do it for me. It's just a major blue balls experience, you get all worked up and then no payoff. Case and point, Disturbia, the movie was great until the end, then *SPOILERS* it just peters out with that weak ass garden shears stab. I mean for fuck's sake has no one at Paramount played Dead Rising? Garden shears are a badass weapon, he could have at least lopped off an arm or leg before the stab, and best case scenario I would have liked the stab + cut off head combo to seal the deal. Not to mention the fact that the annoying asian kid gets WAILED on with the baseball bat and then TUDUH he's perfectly alright. Weeeeak. Did I mention that I really don't like people named Stephen? Sorry to the Stephens of the world but it just feels like a limp dick, artsy version of Steven in my opinion.
