| What do you people think about it? Do you think it will turn out good and be worth seeing in theaters? I hope its good, I plan to see it this summer when it comes out. Stephen King does some crazy stuff and this sounds really good. I like most of Stephen Kings storys, and this one just seems like a decent idea. What do you guys think? |

| It is based on a Stephen King short story about a hotel room that is haunted. has had 12 suicides and 30 natural deaths in a span of 68 years. And the hotel room(room 1408) is the epicenter of the activity, and people have been unable to stay in said room for more than a short period of time. looked good and since I read a basic summary of it to get the basics of it to see if it looked worth seeing, I wants to see it more now for some reason. Its just crazy sounding. |

| I've read alomst everything S.King has writen, love it all, but most of the movies always seem a little disappointing. I haven't read this though. From the book : Everything's Eventual : 14 Dark Tales ![]() Here is the trailer.

| I would bet against it. It's rare to find a decent movie that was made from a King book or story.

| It *does* have John Cusack. That could potentially redeem it a little. By the way, if you ever start doubting Stephen King movies, see The Shining (the original with Jack), Carrie, Misery, Dolores Claiborne or The Stand.

I didn't like The Shining. I couldn't take Nicholson seriously in that one. Didn't care much for Carrie. The Stand was entertaining but since it was a TV mini series I don't think of it when I think of King movies. Another TV movie I liked was The Langoliers. I did really like Misery. Kathy Bates made that one work. Dolores Claiborne was really good-more Kathy Bates. I enjoyed some older ones now that I think about it-Cujo, Christine, The Dead Zone. Don't know that I'd like 'em as much if I saw them for the first time now though. I forgot he wrote Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption. Didn't know he wrote The Green Mile. All in all I'd say my memory failed me and only some of King's movies suck. . And to be fair sometimes it's the director and/or screen writer that makes or breaks the movie. David Cronenberg put his directing stamp on The Dead Zone and King legally disowned The Lawnmower Man. | |

| He also wrote Apt Pupil...it's from the same novella as Stand By Me. Anyway, I think it could be decent...John Cusack usually makes pretty good movies. P.S. Everything's Eventual is really good. Go read it right now.

| Well, damn, am I late chiming in on this one or what?? Well, everything Stephen King rocks!! Of course I would say that.I am definately looking forward to this movie! I actually enjoy most of his movies and books. There are very few (It) that I don't care too much for. Of course, I despise clowns, so IT never had a chance. lol I think this is a good role for John Cusak. It looks like a really good nailbiting movie. No, I haven't read the book. I have fallen down on the job. I own Everything's Eventual, but haven't read it yet. You guys read The Cell? That was creepy!!Misery was awesome, made perfect by Kathy Bates (as someone mentioned) My favorite movie/book in the whole world is The Green Mile. Made perfect by the actors. And the fact it is totally not Stephen King style! I like he has gone more psycological than scarey. Shawshank Redemption, again, awesome actors, and stuck very close to the book. An awesome book at that!! I do also happen to like the Shining-Jack style. I thought Wendi was hard to take serious ![]() Salem's Lot was the first Stephen King movie or anything I ever saw. I was only 6 at the time and it scared the LIFE out of me. It wasn't until years later when I read Pet Semetary that I learned it was the same guy that continued to scare the life out of me...impression left on a 6 yr old by Salem's Lot. And I have been a HUGE fan ever since! I hold high standards for Stephen King, and he usually doesn't disappoint. Not me anyway Rose Red was another really good one I guess I could go on and on and on. lol |
