Anyone seen The Bridge by Eric Steel? It's a documentary about suicides on the Golden Gate Bridge. In 2004 they filmed the bridge 24/7 and caught 23 suicides on camera, and they also have interviews with the families and stuff. Since I live in San Francisco and have been over the bridge more than 3,000 times, and actually seeing about 10 suicides, I had to see it. Its pretty intense.

Jesus, I can't imagine what it must be like to actually see a person jump off a bridge. That's the sort of thing that would turn me all melancholy, brooding over my own mortality for days, weeks, months-who can say?-before I snapped out of it. The only death I've actually witnessed with my own eyes were always among the old, and I don't think it's the same effect when it's the natural conclusion of the cycle of life.

Maybe I'll check out the movie. No promises, though.
