hey, what do you guys and girls think about the new harry potter movie? i think they left too much out as always and they changed a few things. i dunno, i think id just rather have a 10 hour long movie that was true to the book in pretty much every way. i dunno, what do you think?

I thought there was no emotional depth or character exploration. Pretty much it was just a superficial action movie that is somewhat entertaining but unsubstantial.

Why do you need emotional depth or charcter exploration? You know the characters from the previous movies, so there's little need for development there. Same goes for the emotional depth. You're already tied into the characters emotionally from the previous films.

Granted, I havent' seen the new flick, but I intend to, possibly this weekend if it's raining & I can't get out there and mow.

I was real pissed at the last movie because they left a shit ton out from the book. After the first 2 movies i feel like they just started leaving shit out and alot of it is pretty important stuff

I liked the movie, despite the missing plot points, but I would have liked it better if some stupid girl hadn't sat next to me and then talked through the whole thing and if that stupid woman hadn't been too lazy to take her screaming baby outside.

I like a movie with emotional depth because I want a movie that makes me feel, not just see... I think that the director's job is to put his spin on the thing, not just retell a story. Harry's relationship with Sirius should have been better explored, as well as all his emotions about what was going on around him... All I saw in the movie was a grumpy, angsty kid. When I watch a movie I want it to say something to me that goes further than life at Hogwarts. Not all people want that, and if you don't and are comfortable with major deviations from the book's plot line, then you'll probably like it.

I took my daughter to see it last night. She spent the first half of the movie mad and insulting the new teacher which was hilarious. Granted my daughter is only 7 but it didn't keep her attention like the first three did. I haven't read the books so I couldn't tell you what or how much they left out. Don't get me wrong I liked the movie but IMP it didn't live up to the first three. I think as previously mentioned the movie lacked the same "emotional depth". I love the Harry Potter movies and after each one I couldn't wait for the next one to come out. Unfortunately this time around I'm not real excited about seeing the next chapter.

Saw it opening day, i liked the firework scene. I do think this was the worst one so far just because it seem like someone said lacking depth. The fight scene wasnt that good, just a weak light show. I'd perfer a long movie that followed the book.

Y'all do realize these books are pushing 900 pages? There is no way they could possibly get everything in, or even most things. They have to boil it down to something that translates on screen.

It's like Lord of the Rings. They left a good bit of stuff out of those movies, but you very rarely hear people complain about it. And those movies were 3 hours each. Add in the deleted scenes, and you could literally spend all day watching LOTR.

Quite frankly I want to go watch Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman. I have a wee crush...

The lord of the rings is just people walking, the fight scenes make the movies. The parts left out in the book, what are the words, add to the plot, give it depth. Making a movie that long wouldnt be that bad if it wasn't the only movie that long, now peoples attention spans last the length of commericals about 30-60 seconds.
