I'm probably gonna see it as soon as it comes out on DVD. I just don't spend money on the theatres. 10 tickets and then a small soda cost 3.25

I love the Beatles, man. They are the band that got me to love rock and roll and got me to stop listening to shit like Good Charlotte (I was young and they were from maryland what can I say). The Beatles are probably like my favorite band...

i saw this while stoned and thought it was a complete waste of weed. i wanted to walk out like 3 times but my friend really wanted to see it so i gave her the benefit of the doubt.

i have to say that i went in thinking it was a film and not a musical (not for musicals personally) but i think i only enjoyed the ed izzard and bono moments (and i hate bono...weird) and not much else.

if you ask me, it seems like a bunch of american idol rejects butchering classic songs with a weak and retarded 'metaphorical' plot line.

Thumbs down Cornyness at it's best

I would have to agree with my buddy root, this is the worst movie I've seen.

I thought the movie was suppose to be a 'gripping account' of the 60's so I saw it baked to enhance it's effect. Right. All I saw was cornyness and Root's face telling me "I can't believe you put me through this wretchedness".

Had I known it was a musical I probably wouldn't have seen it.

Had I seen it on stage I probably would have enjoyed it much more. Julie Taymor has directed much better works than this. She allowed for the mauling of a fascinating time period and great rock group.

I haven't seen it, but I'm familiar enough with it to know that if it's worst movie you've seen, then you haven't seen many. I can sympathize though. I don't care for musicals where the characters suddenly break out in song. Did someone lie to you about the movie? A non musical gripping account of the 60's? You might want to check rottentomatoes.com next time you're thinking about paying good $ for a movie. They have a ton of reviews as well as a synopsis.

yeah...bad move on both our parts. i checked rotten tomato and imdb right before going but gave it the benefit of the doubt after seeing the trailer. THATS what did me in, the trailer makes you think its a film and not a corny musical.

im all for musicals if i know im seeing one, but i hate to be surprised with one when i think im sitting down to watch a movie.

by far not the WORST movie, but it was pretty bad while sitting through all that crap.

Even if every one of my friends told me this movie was horrible, I love the Beatles too much to not see this sooner or later.

I hate* to be pedantic, but I believe that Across the Universe counts as a rock operetta, not a musical. A musical has it's plot points accentuated by the songs, not told by them. The story of Across the Universe is derived from the songs, not the other way around, as musicals are. The book (straight lines) is much more important in a musical than in a rock operetta (and completely non-existent in a true rock opera). And I like rock operas, so nuts to you guys

Theatre geek out.

*Who am I kidding? I LOVE being pedantic...

I would watch this solely for Evan Rachel Wood.

Default This movie is AMAZING!

Saw it with a really good friend of mine, he never listened to the Beatles a whole lot before the movie, and I've been a big time Beatles fan, so now after seeing it he wants all my CD's and stuff, defiantly my favorite movie this year, and yeah, I got blazed off my ass before I went.
